I think this is one of the few references to internal age-politics in the cabin? If Charby isn't the oldest outright he's not far off. He's probably the most mature (at this point)...

Because to be brutally honest, I didn't have much practice drawing "humans" when I came up with the concept for CTV, (most of my characters were either animals or demon monster things, or whatever but they weren't human!) and because I gave Charby a sort of Calvin (of Calvin & Hobbes of course) body, he needed other characters his height to interact with. Plus I thought the idea of demon kids who weren't really kids would be funny (and at the time, original). Things that look like children can get away with far more than something that looks adult. Plus, there's a million vampire comics out there, I needed something to set myself apart from the Anne Rice crowd. BTW Tony doesn't really have a little kid's body, his species is just short!

Charby's the co-owner of the house, and less threatening than Menu ^_^ It's just like any real life situation involving room/housemates, you gotta ask the others living there first before you let other strange beings just up and live there.
