If you recognize all the references here, then your dorkiness rivals my own. XD I wanted to get this done days ago, but it took more time than I foresaw. Panel 1 took me hours upon hours of tedious work. (Doesn't really show, imo.) Panel 2 took virtually no time at all. :-P That's time for you.
This probably is my last bad time travel joke (for now). We'll see. I have another idea or two, but I can't completely visualize them yet. I should come up with something by next week. (Just one update this week because I'm going to a science conference – and this strip took much longer than anticipated.)

Big Twain fan here, so any Twain reference is a big plus in my book. Plus Connecticut Yankee is one of my favorites. (Also, it's funny to see Austin Powers tech in such good company.)

I am your equal but I prefer the term Nerd or Geek. Dork A blue whale's penis [ largest penis in the world some would say i qualify} Nerd A person who gains pleasure from amassing large quantities of knowledge about subjects often too detailed or complicated for most other people to be bothered with. Geek The term "geek" originally referred to the carnival performers whose act consisted of biting the heads off chickens and eating glass. Over time it came to be applied to anyone who got paid to do work considered odd or bizarre by mainstream society.

You've read it all wrong, Amanda! His bludgeoning means I *like* him. Keep in mind that my favorite Used Books characters are Mike and Alex. ~_^

Haha, he DOES look like Cade ^.^ You must secretly dislike him, haha. On the plus side, I like that people immediately recognize his color scheme ^.^

My dad told me that one. I never saw it. I was going to use the Austin Powers thing until he did. (I figure they're interchangeable.) I like using the most obscure references I can find. :-P
DAJB at 7:24AM, Nov. 10, 2008
If I remember rightly, Time Tunnel was a TV series not a movie. Either way, I didn't get the reference. Until now, I'd successfully managed to erase that from my memory, along with Land of the Giants and so much other 1960s Saturday evening hokum! Gaah! Now, see what you've done! Oh and I didn't get the Mark Twain reference, either. I shall go and hang my head in shame ...!

Lol. I didn't mean to clobber Cade! I just picked 5 random hair colors and mixed them with 5 random skin colors. XD The portal was based on a really old movie called "Time Tunnel" (I think that's what the Austin Power's portal is based on).The phone booth is a reference to Bill & Ted, but Dr. Who works too. (Though it should be more British.) -- You're right about the last panel. That was the only Mark Twain time traveling I know of.
patrickdevine at 10:41PM, Nov. 9, 2008
I think I get the ones in the first panel: The HG Wells Time Machine, the Time Portal from the second Austin Powers movie, The Delorean from Back to the Future 3, and the Tardis from Dr. Who? Although I haven't actually read it I'm guessing the second panel is a reference to Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court? Also, one of the dead scientists looks a little like Cade...
