014. Hyphenated Botany

Yeah, I know… I haven't been consistent with updates. To put things simply, this comic is not really among my top priorities. Actually, it is just a dumping ground for the inane silliness that clutters my brain and limits space for important things. That said, I am still updating! Maybe a goal of “weekly” was lofty. I'll continue trying to do that, but I'm not going to let it bother me if I don't. I hope it doesn't bother you either.
(Keep in mind that I am on a desperate job hunt in ‘real life’ and have other things that need my attention. After that, my other comic takes priority – and is my personal favorite project.)
All that aside, I hope you enjoy today's update. I have a few ideas floating around in my head, so I might make another update or two pretty soon. I can't help but be a science geek, so I will insert a fact or two… Carnivorous plants typically live in nitrogen-poor soil like bogs and rocky areas. They don't actually ‘eat’ animals, but require them for the nutrients absent from their environment. Like all plants, they undergo photosynthesis for their energy source. (And their main nutrient source is insects, maybe a mouse or small frog. None are man-sized.)

Eating celery there for a pun deserves death!

Proper use of hyphenization for the man-eating plant of the third panel. Correct omission of hyphen for man eating the plant. Proper punctuation is always worthy of note. (Plus the strip is funny.)

I am intrigued that they still put the bench in front of the particular plant though. XD

That movie is fun. I was thinking about the 'dentist' song the other day... @amanda: All the plants are made up. My plant taxonomy class gifted me with the ability to draw fictitious flora. XD

Heh, I was going to make a LSoH comment too ^.^ Apparently, we all see the same movies. Yay! Unexpected twist - love it! Also, I'm intrigued by the purple-baubled plant in panel 1. Did you make it up, or is it something I can look up?
