In FC's comic, Mindfold, he only post half a page at a time because, as he says it, he doesn't like scrolling to see a webcomic page. I personally don't mind scrolling when reading someone's comic, but I do wonder if other readers might have a preference, so I've decided to essentially post pages in the size of half a page (plus it works for me for a few other reasons too…). The pages are not truly halves, although if I ever published this in book form, one could fit on above the other and make a whole printed page.
Anyway, first page - hope everyone enjoys this!

I'm very old fashioned and I like to read any comic book as a vertical oblong, I just seem to be conditioned to it. I also like the visual aspect of seeing a whole page in one go as I zoom in on the first panel as it gives atmosphere on the way in. Nothing wrong this way thougha nd it's got to be easier to keep to schedule too.

It's not a terrible format. I tend to go with full pages, just because I try to write each page as a complete "scene," albeit with varying degrees of success. So splitting up the pages would make for an unsatisfying reading experience most of the time. But as long as the pages "read" well, it doesn't matter. It looks good.

Thank You!!

Half page, whole page? What ever works I guess. Different comix and artists have different strengths which lead to different layouts.

Very true!!

As a frequent perpetrator of mouse wheel wrecking infinite canvases I can't really comment on page size ;) The drawings look amazing. I kind of envy you for the stars in the first panel. Never really managed to get that effect myself - not in watercolour anyway.

Thanks! Like I said, I personally don't mind scrolling (your long pages have always been a pleasure to read), but I just wanted to try this, see how it goes.. As for the Stars... with water color, you do a dark flat wash, let it dry, then take a toothbrush, wet it (shake out excess water), then, with your finger on the bristles, you flick tiny water droplets onto the dried wash, let water drops set for a few seconds, then dab them up with a dry cloth or paper towel. Works great!!

Yeah, those houses must have taken a ton of work! So excited to see Kimber again - and those are some intriguing snippets of dialogue about invisible strings (those things are EVERYWHERE these days!)
KimLuster at 3:49PM, March 25, 2018
Thanks! They didn't take too long! I went with the extra detail cuz I wanted a little oomph behind it!! And those strings... yeah... Everywhere! Strangling the world!!
