Bad Start

What's happening? An Island near the Commerce Islands and the city of the Mall has exploded. This caused tsunamis and in a world of magic it has disrupted the planet’s natural magical flow. The folks from the Institute are mobilizing to help. It looks like the dragon lair has decided to sit this disaster out. And if HK didn't have enough problems she has two passengers that are reluctant to identify themselves. Yes it's a bad start.

I think the Dragon's Lair may have just lost their slayer and finder (and perhaps some allies as well). They just don't know it yet.

Honestly I think Flight Leader might have become deranged. Nothing against elves, but it seems a large proportion of those in power seem to have gone off the rails

I have to suspect Flight Leader is subject to some kind of influence right now. this level of isolationism seems especially uncharacteristic of a dragon rider, the very existence of riders depends on earning the good will of others, they cannot persist even with their long lives as an isolationist order. Thinking of it, she has become more destructively paranoid since the hatching. Her handling of HK, Silver Stripe, and the DM are microcosms of this.

Couldn't the flight leader have asked nicely for Fox Fur to stay local instead of drugging her? Around here, that would invoke some serious felony charges against the boss who involuntarily drugs their subordinates.
