I've really been waiting for the next few pages for a while - pretty much since I decided to include the Ronson/Emily story in the “Consequences” storyline.
Technical note: I was going to take the easy way out with the Hephaestus' reflection and just flipped a mirror image under the original. SpANG did a bit of a redraw and made it better. That's why he's my hero.
The orientation of the Pentagram is immaterial. Or, more accurately, the way Wiccans use it is immaterial. More on that in time.
Here's my vision for how this works:
There are 3 tubes for every god prison, which means 1500 tubes, which are then condenced into 500 tubes and finally condenced a last time into the ten power lines feeding the pentagram. Originally, the color is a slight yellow. By the time it is condenced and reaches the pentagram, it becomes a deep red.
There are almost certainly many more rings of traps around the pentagram than I have shown (Ronson's trap was an inner horizontal ring, which was easier for me to get him from there to here), which encircle the pentagram in nearly all directions.
Pentagram = any five pointed star.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram
Pentacle is the word that my Wiccan friends use to describe their five pointed star in a circle figure. Though according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentacle) the word pentacle can be sued to describe any magic amulet/or symbol usually using a circle to form the outer border.
On the other hand I have a friend that says that the inverted poetical with five pointed star is or was a symbol for the condescension of Jesus Christ; he said it represented how he a god descended below all things.
In this comic we have Satin dressed as a parody of a vicar, parody seems to be his thing. Also seeing a pentagram as satanic is more popular then any other use. Though now that I think of it many law enforcement badges have or are pentagrams/ Pentacles?.
And if any of you read all of my ramblings may Ronson bless you (if he gets to it). ;)

@ JonMW:
Again, perspective. You are only seeing ONE PART of that room. Plus, we have NO IDEA if each yellow tube represents a single god.

@ the last 2 posters. From what perspective? If you are thinking that the READER, who has a THIRD PERSON birds-eye view, I think you are wrong. The point is aimed down exactly where Ronson and that other guy just came in from, the logical perspective.
The only nitpicky thing I can think of about this page, is the fact that the pentagram there is supposed to be upside down. Devil-worshipers usually have the crosses and the pentagram upside down. Turning them upside down is usually supposed to symbolize discord, evil, and so on forth.
While Christians and the wiccans tends to have theirs upright, as to symbolize the elements of their gods in order and balance. That sort of thing. I know many people cannot tell the difference between an upside down and an upright one for the differnet belief systems as seeing that sort of logic can be confusing for some people... but that's how it is.
Firstly: it doesn't count as a real pentagram unless it has one point aiming straight down. The reason that it's a sign of evil is because it's a *good* sign inverted. Much like the cross and upside-down cross.
Secondly: I suppose we're meant to imagine that the first panel is actually crowded with many more tubes than are actually depicted. Nobody wants to draw 500 tubes :D
I don't think those are lasers, because lasers wouldn't cast shadows...?
They are a series of tubes...
Much like the internet.
At first I thought they were powering Heaven, that seems like an excellent hell for Gods...
My next thought, which seems a little more reasonable is to power the portal to the entrance way to Earth (which needs to be manufactured as all the gods are cut off from Earth), which seems to be the biggest leverage chip that the "Satan" has.
If I were Ronson, I'd think about getting Salsmen into a nice cell. Imagine the god of Evil of ArrKelaan, nice and cozy locked up in hell. I love the irony.
Pretty pentagram.... :P
For some reason I am reminded of that movie, Monsters Inc., (don't laugh) where they used an inefficient power source while there was something better they needed. I wonder if it's something similar here, harnessing God power while it becomes less and less effective, or if it's something else.
Loved the upgrading comment. Made me chuckle. :)

I agree with issus. It must take a lot of mana to keep a world out of supernatural influence... a paradox the god of apathy would love, I guess.

I bet this setup is powering the wall to keep the gods away from earth.

They power hell with their body heat and a form of fusion, don't they?

My god, it looks like the back of my desk in there. Well, at least in panel one. The pentagram, not so much.

Interesting- the gods are like batteries for hell! Perhaps their power allows Satan access to Earth...
