As you might guess, we really hated Mob Ties. Once I finished putting this page together I actually felt a certain joy that was indebted to the fact that I will never have to read Mob Ties, ever again, and Hark fully agreed with the sentiment. I know it's a harsh review perhaps our harshest yet, but it really is the nicest we could muster.
As always, hit up our forum and let us know what you think - do you like Mob Ties, do you hate it? And why?
See you'ze next week.

Taltamir, there is absolutely no need to go about attacking a reader of this review. I also love how people are ignoring the fact that Author Ninja put herself up for this review, and had every chance to drop out. Ironically, the aurguments people have put forward against this review have less ground than the review itself.
I'm not going to read it. I have better things to do than read over 1000 (apparently) pages of creepy stuff without any real character development or story (from the sound of it).
This really reminds me of my uber religious co-worker who, after a little back and forth about harry potter books said:
I am not going to read it, I have better things to do than to read a book promoting witchcraft and satan worship; frankly, it should be banned, because it indoctrinates children into satan worship"

PS. you want to review some vile stuff on DD? look at Death_P0rn (the stuff makes me hurl)... or heck, just go down the list of A rated comics on drunk duck.

So... I read the entire "review": 1. The "art" of the review looks like utter crap; mobties art is of high quality. Just for the heck of it I looked back at page 1 through 3 of mob ties, and while the art quality is lower then the current pages, it is still way above average, and still good. On the other hand, the "review" comic would have been less ugly if it was stick figures. 2. Rather then make legitimate complaints, the review set up a strawman argument, the entire review is repeatedly trying to drive home that mobties is a pedophile comic of nothing but fanservice of underaged girls, that is total BS (I have come across such comics, and those are indeed gross, but mobties isn't one of those). 3. The only other complaint, mentioned in passing, is about the comic's plot using "cheap explanations" for gimmicks... that is BS, the comic is simply set in a high magitech fantasy setting. 4. DD has entire sections of hardcore pornography comics... even if their (false) accusations were true, their claims to the defilement of the sanctity of drunkduck is hilarious. If I had to count legitimate cons about mob ties, it would be that the pacing is sometimes a bit iffy; but no such legitimate concerns are raised in this review.

woah, people actually listen to these guys? why? Mobties is one of the best comics out there, and if your worried about the whole fanservice thing, its practicly PG compared to other mangas, also, the art has improved lightyears from the begining, not something i can say about harkovast btw, which still looks like it was drawn by an eight year old. Read mobties, without prejudice, and you will enjoy it.

I'm not going to read it. I have better things to do than read over 1000 (apparently) pages of creepy stuff without any real character development or story (from the sound of it). I was thinking this would be a good one because I had noticed it was popular. Now I consider that fact a little scary. Ah, human nature, from Hells heart I stab at thee! I count 4 cut and pastes of Hark being angry and shaking his fist. That's four out of six Hark images. Maybe that's a record, it should be.

I CAN see why it's so popular, simply for the reasons stated in the review. People want fanservice. Lots and lots of it.
vwyler at 9:20PM, July 10, 2010
Great review, guys. I can't see why that comic is so popular.
shirkersama at 8:54PM, July 10, 2010
Best pun ever. Not even gonna try to read this one.
Chernobog at 8:25PM, July 10, 2010
I guess I'm a bit surprised by this one, considering its popularity. It's been in the top 10 for ages now. *shrug* I don't know a lot about this one admittedly, although I think a lot of the consistently top 10 stuff is pretty overrated as a whole. (Such is the mainstream.) Looking at the art, I don't know if I'd consider it bad (better than mine, I believe) but I don't care for the pseudo-manga Fred Perry style. I'm starting to feel like I got off lucky compared to these reviews.

don't mention the streak, you'll jinx it!
Nerd Fury at 6:15PM, July 10, 2010
After that review, there is no way I'm going anywhere near that comic.
Salsa at 5:47PM, July 10, 2010
Dr. Luck: Wow, and I thought I had a sadistic streak. All I have to say is that I am definitely waiting until you've had a string of good ones before you review DoaMP.
RPGgrenade at 5:08PM, July 10, 2010
I was way too confused with the first Two pages... and with the hundreds of pages during the whole thing... the art never, and I repeat, NEVER got better (I skipped every few one hundred pages to see) I think it deserves the art remarks, to be honest, I didn't stick around to review the story
Larry at 4:21PM, July 10, 2010
Barry would be proud. But in all seriousness, I could never really get into Mob Ties. I had my suspicions based on the few pages I read.
DrLuck at 3:42PM, July 10, 2010
And this is why I couldn't wait for this review.
