Doing a test by making a new comic I get 5,684, with 2,775 story comics and 2,909 strips.
I suspect our numbers may be inaccurate due to the discrepancy between your figure and mine.

i just did the search/browse on both, it says 193 pages of 25 webcomics per page
193 x 25 =4,825
193 x 25 =4,825

That's the answer then Sub: My number is the total number of comics strips and stories created at Drunk Duck. Where as your number would be all the comics that actually have pages! ^_^

I understand you herio :)
I quite like the way you write actually, it's sort of fun.
You're a bit more eloquent in your comics than you are in the forums though. ;)

The thing is, how many of those comics actually update? I can almost guarentee that most of them are either infrequently updated or dead. I'd place my bets on there being between 2000-3000 active comics, give or take a few hundred.

so that means there are more readers than webcomickers?
Yeah, but even that being the case, we have far fewer signups than we do visitors. The trick is trying to figure out how to get everyone to just sign up! :)

well i had an idea about that.
when we have the DD awards the only people that can vote would be people with an acct.
so that might help to get people to sign up

Now if only those 17K people all bought comics regularly the comic industry would be in fantastic shape.
But I'm not complaining. It's good that DD has a lot of members. You would think more of them would hang around the forums.
