Is this the skeleton of a blow fish (aka puffer fish)?
Those are the remains of its scales, they're made from different material to bones. The fish bones are there like those of other fish. But because these spiny scales are so hard and dense they remain after the rest of the body rots away (particularly the skin that holds them together), so it looks like they have a chain-mail bone exoskeleton.
I just thought I'd post something cool with a factual explanation under it. :)

Remember seeing something where those spikes were used as weapons like ready made spikes or even as throwing stars.

It looks like the ghost of an unusually malevolent Christmas Robin.
