what if your comic goes on without you?

how many of you with comics here would like your comic to continue even if you stopped doing it?

A lot of the golden age comic companies went defunct but dc kept going with different creative teams over the years on their books.

what if another creative team could take over your book after you didn't want to draw it anymore would that be cool to you?

I've imagined my comic continuing with another artist or writer after I was done creating stories

With the number of finished scripts I have in the production queue, any team willing to take one on is welcome. There's already been one story done by someone else using my characters.

I wouldn't go for that. There's a reason why I remain an independent artist and content creator, so I can retain creative control over my creations without any sort of corporate influence who would try to steal my creations away from me and dictate what I can or can't do with my own creations without allowing me any input over how I want my creations to turn out.

I would be okay with people making a story in my setting but the main series themselves, they are basically my fun time artistic creations and kind of get weird out by others trying to interpret my mess of a world.

People can do whatever they want with my comics. Just don't make them boring.

I've often thought that I should put together an outline of endings for
my comics - like, writing early endings that someone could complete to end the series if I'm suddenly gone or unable to do it.

The thing with that is, I'm sure that having an ending would matter to me a lot more than to any readers. There might be a few. If I get a bad
premonition about a bell tolling, maybe I'll quickly put the word out… xD

Really, it's hard for me to see anyone else doing your stuff. That said it would be interesting to see their ideas of your stuff…

I'd be honored if someone like say, Jerry, Bravo, Banes, Gunwallace, Dpat57 or davidxolukoga (or quite a few others on DD) would take on my stories or characters when I've move on to warmer or cloudier climates.

Jerry might not take the same approach or the same direction as I do, but he would be eager as hell and put 100% into making them.

Belinda Brandon appeared in The Godstrain in a relatively important point of the story. She also appeared in other creator's bits in the DD Awards. I've always had an open invitation to other creators to use my characters so long as they ask first.
I have permission from El Cid to use two of his characters and can reference some of Jerrie's stuff. A 1990 version of Jerrie is even a minor character in Belle's Best the Films of Belinda Brandon.

I love crossovers. Collaboration is a great way to get creative juices flowing and to grow as a creator.

I had forgotten about those. The Godstrain was one of my real favorites in the day.

I've had people ask me if they could take over OCs from comics i've abandoned. I always gave them my blessing to do so. Have fun with them, i sure ain't using them anymore.

I tend to lose interest in my own creations rather quickly, i don't have many nostalgic hang-ups. I rather focus on the new stuff i'm currently working on.

That honestly is a problem I have as well. I tend to have commitment issues with my own work; if I find myself working on a specific project for too long, and certain complications arise (either artistic or technical) that slow down any progress I could be making on that project, then I find that eventually, I find myself losing interest in the project altogether, because that passion and drive has since fizzled out.
