Winding down and looking back

It’s that time of the year where we are all winding down, kicking back and looking over the events of the past year. For me, this was an up and down year full of excitement, friends, hardships, bad landlords and many, many new things to eat. Despite not going quite the way I thought it would, this was a year of mopping up what was essentially a toddler’s temper tantrum from 2017 and I think we’re nearly there.

My efforts in comics was much the same. Some nice wins dotted with many frustrations but we learnt a lot from it. We got further in one of our comic efforts and not so far in others but that’s not to say progress wasn’t made.

Do we have plans for the next year? Of course we do! This is a good time to begin thinking about what can be done next year to take our projects to the next level, but for now, it’s a good time to sit back and enjoy the remainder of 2018 and get in some hard earned rest.

How did your year go? Did your comics do as well as you expected them to? What did you achieve? Let us know in the comment section below. And join us for our last Twitter chat of the year on Sunday evening for ourat 5:30PM(EST)!

I'm reaching the end of a long process and finishing all my projects, having a lot of "debuts" coming in 2019. I'm glad this year is over, because I've reached the point of burnout. No regret, though. If I hadn't pushed it to the limit, I wouldn't have reached my desired results. Nonetheless to say, it was a painful process.

Barvo sounds like your clown name.

Barvo? Boffo or Barfo? Would a Bravo by any other name smell as foul? Or in this world of ducks, is that fowl? I just needed to see one of my collection of Christmas Carol versions.

Oh Barvo. :( You just need a great big hug. It's ok man, you got into the top ten this year, that's pretty awesome!

Don't know who looks more lifeless, the tree or Her Majesty. It's been hell from the eye surgeries to needing a new car and comic battles? A Frankenstein monster that I should never have brought back because all it did was disappoint. And absolutely some of the worst recycled crud I have ever done. At least I got to finally use a bunch of old art I had. I'm glad I can put it behind me and start something else.

Well I don't see next year being any different from these past 2 and a half years until I can actually recover from the toxicity of certain contingents. But at least I recently discovered I'm not the only one who shares that exact same sentiment, so that's a start to be grateful for. Cheers, Happy Holidays, and God save the Queen. ^^

I couldn't find an RV park to live in for my summer job, so I rented an apartment. Then I panicked because a year lease for a six month job is terrifying. But I love the city I ended up in. It's scary to be making these leaps of faith. My comic has suffered some from the long commute eating my time this year. But the writing process has made some advancements with focusing on a finale. Oh! And I started illustrating and adding to an old novel from my youth. Uploading a form of it to DD starting in February. Got over a hundred pages done. (And it's proven to be very relaxing and helpful art practice.)

Comic wise this year had me get back to work on my comic which in of itself is a huge deal! I also worked a ton of overtime which gave me a new toy to make my comics with and funds to work on the house in general. Fixer upper houses are cheap to get but not to fix! Sadly the extra work has made me not get as far into my comic as I’d like but I think 2019 may be a good year for my comic! When I get enough buffer I fully intend to use all the advertising pull accessible at DD to promote the return!
