This week's cast was an experiment and if it works out we'll do more! We came up with the idea for discussing a comic live on air, the hard part was choosing it, for that we settled on our trusty Kawaiidaigakusei to help us. She chose “Up the Pyramid” by BUDLO. And this was her rationale:

“A comic that I had already featured, but deserves a second run in the spotlight. There is a chapter specifically that would work for a Quackcast episode discussion titled, ”My Mother, Her Baby, & Mary Cassatt“ that went live a few weeks after the comic had been featured. It is a story that is told in very beautiful panels, set in real world settings, and it struck a chord with me when I read it over again and gave me a real pause in order to think about life paths. The chapter could resonate with many people on the site.”
that seemed like amazing reasoning to us and so we chatted about that chapter of Budlo's comic, page after page, all having seen it for the first time. So fancy that, a webcomic podcast that finally talks about webcomics!

This week Gunwallace has given us the theme to NSFW - Heavy on the bass and lots of groove, this is a very 1970s sound!This tune sticks with a line and rides it through to the end. It’s a really solid groove that knows what it wonts and how to get there.

We have community contributions for this Quackcast! Many DDers told us about their best work and we read that out and chat about in on the Quackcast. We talking about promoting comics through DD's Twitter account. The DD awards have begun, get in on them and get nominated! Tantz Aerine wants to promote comics so send stuff to her.The we had a really long and interesting chat about Comisgate and Mark Wade and then Pitface had a meltdown :D This week Gunwallace has given us the theme to Completely unrelated. Episode 201 - The Improvisationcast

Pitface joins the duo of Banes and Ozoneocean once again, this time for the Improvisationcast! Pitface and Tantz Aerine do a lot of writing together when they work jointly on their script for Brave Resistance, but in order to further exercise their creative and collaborative muscles they also practise a turn by turn writing style where they improvise a story as they go. They start off with their own comic characters, one writes an intro and a bit with their character and the next one carries on after with their own character and also weaving the first person's character into the story with them, and so on. In the end you can produce a startling organic story that has forced you to examine the way your character would react to totally unfamiliar situations and stimuli. In this Quackcast we all experiment with this by doing an improvised play with characters we make up on the spot, to very mixed results....
