This week Gunwallace has given us the theme to Diary of a girl with a third eye - The mystery of the occult, battling dark forces, a gritty darkness that swallows light whole. This tune has a wonderfully eastern sound, mixed with a darkly gothic rock feel.

I don't really write scary scenes, I mean the upcoming Chapter 3 of Blessed Days will feature many, but those are usually scary because I've got my hands on some good 3D locations to use and because of zombies and how they look. But One thing I managed to make scary, even though I didn't intend it to be will be a recurring dream sequence, where a character stands with its back to the "camera", says some things and before it'd turn around or we'd get to see the face, the dream / nightmare ends with everything engulfed in flames. I think I managed to make it somewhat scary because of the unsettling feeling it evokes that we're in the perspective of the narrator, who dreams and there's this invisible wall we can't break through. But I can't say how it'll affect readers, so I'll just wait for them to experience it and share their take.

Hehe. One of the most clever ways of breaking the 4th wall I've seen is in Funny Games (the original, I haven't watched the US remake yet, but I've heard it's pretty much a frame-by-frame copy). Two boys / young men arrive to a family's vacation house and start tormenting said family for no apparent reason. Only, sometimes they look at the audience, giving hints that this is all a movie, happening for your entertainment, seeing this family suffer and die is what you essentially paid for. It's one of Haneke's earlier films and a really powerful one as well.
