SS7 31 Feeling guilt

After all the time I spent drawing the audience on the last page I decided to give myself a break this week by filling the panels up with head shots. :) Fred gave a nice nod to Becky's colouring last week and rightly so for often the detail I put in my line work is all extra work for her! I really love the skin tone this week especially as it just amazes me sometimes how soft and warm the skin looks once the colour goes down.
Anyways…. This page says a lot more than the last and hopefully makes Sarah's state of mind at this point seem much clearer. In a nutshell, she sees Laura as a rather sad and lonely girl whose standing aside to let Sarah take her former girlfriend. Sarah tried to be reasonable about it at first but as we will see Sarah now regrets what she did that night at colours just nine weeks ago.

Bogeywoman: I see you are a true romantic at heart. :) My original script for this panel read 'but her words were wilting and fell like autumn leaves before they reached my ears' but when I came to do the page it felt like the word 'wilting' said it all anyway.

Fred: Yes! It's supposed to be Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara on the screens. I didn't want to make a big thing of it as the music is not really relevant to the scene but I thought it was a nice movie so I snuck it in there. :)

DV: Sarah's clearly feeling pity for Laura right now but remember this scene does come at the end of our story. We still have 9 weeks to go from their 'night-out' to this point and there are a few other incidents that also come into play during this time which will only impact on Sarah as she sits through the show and reflects back over all of them :)

OMG. This is a real revelation moment, and that last thought of Sarah's - ouch! It's going be interesting seeing what happened that night at Colours. And as an aside is that a butterfly tattooed on Nikki's shoulder?

Fruitbat: You can see now how close you were in your thoughts last week now and yes that is a butterfly tattoo on Nik's shoulder. It was a last minute addition and I have to remember she has it now!

Hmm, well, maybe you're giving yourself a break... or maybe you're using a cinematic technique where as the subject becomes introspective, the background colors fade and the camera moves in on the face. A flashback follows.
