SS7 42 Night out at Colors 10
skyangel on Jan. 18, 2020
The story so far:
Sarah and her friends are having a night out at a local gay club and she is caught up in a snowball that started with some small irritating remarks from a stranger that tipped her mood in the wrong direction and is now becoming compacted by the behaviour of her ex girlfriend Janey whose behaviour she is finding continually annoying. On top of that her new girlfriend Lucy also seems more interested in discussing an upcoming concert with an old flame which leaves Sarah feeling left out.
Sooo…finally with a big chip about being ignored and fuelled by a little too much drink, Sarah is about to hit the dance floor with the intention of being noticed. Tune in next week to see if Sarah makes a big impression or just falls flat on her face! ;)
Have a nice week :)

Just noticed Sarah's arm positioning in the first two panels: that's a good way to ensure you don't 'accidentally' drink, she would have to consciously lift her left arm to free her right

DV: I think she's probably trying to stop her spontaneous sipping which is a great weakness of my my own!

Just hope the trip to the ER isn't _too_ serious (we didn't see any physical signs of injury during the concert)

Not the worst, just possible outcomes (face-planting a glass-topped table can cause some serious damage... to the table if not the face :P)

DV: I love the way you think the worst! lol

Or makes a big impression by falling flat on her face...………………………………………………..I do feel sorry for Laura and Nikki in this situation; it's not comfortable being the only stone cold sober ones in a room (club) full of merry-makers. I will be tuning in next week to see what happens, and what happened between Sarah and Laura.

I had to Google 'Marabar Caves,' neither having read the book or seen the movie, and it's an interesting, and rather ominous analogy. I'll definitely be tuning in next week.

Fruitbat: I feel sorry for those two as well. Sarah's been very self centred throughout the whole evening and it's really at the pinnacle of her conflicting attitude towards Janey being around again. This scene is very important though as it's pretty much the The Marabar caves for the whole chapter. Everything that has led up to this point is about to change Sarah's perspective is about to change as also is that of some of her friends, and all because of her behaviour here tonight.

Nic and Ben: We've had a lot of fun playing with the atmosphere on these pages but this is one of my favourites for sure. :)

Oh, this will not end well.

I didn't know this song so I Googled it and I guess I did know it pretty much because it sounds a lot like Spirit in the Sky from 100 years ago. I think the way the music and the whole get drunk at the club thing is rendered works really well, really creative. And I hope our pissed/pissed girl doesn't decide to do a strip tease, just to make a big impression, but I suspect that's what's coming.

Fred: A part of it was used for an advert a few years back but it's always been one of my favourites, it just feels so powerful when it gets going. No comment on the rest. lol
