@shastab24: That was a very interesting comment. After was written some time ago, and it's just a coincidence that this one happened to be going up at this time. But the basic premise is that what some might consider 'Hell on Earth', others might be rather happy with.

I like the way my dad interprets Rapture. Apparently, the Bible verse talks about two weavers, doing their job. One is selected and taken away while the other continues working. My dad sees this as a sign that the one left behind is the favored one, who remains to do God's work while the other is lured away by the Antichrist. My dad's idea is this: the Anichrist will come first and be incredibly charismatic, causing many to follow. But, some will doubt. My dad says that as long as there's doubt, then it is not the true Christ, and that when he really shows up, [i]everyone[/i] will know it's him. Yes, this is the interpretation of just one person, but I like the idea, and it makes sense to me. Of course, he also has another god point regarding the Bible: Adam and Eve were not the first people. Before they're mentioned, Genesis goes through the seven-day rotation, the sixth day being when humans are created. Only after the seventh day does He create Adam and Eve (I say the 8th day), and this is why Cain is so afraid whn leaving his family after killing Abel--because the other tribes of people would kill him, not his own family who has a direct line to God and can be told explicitly not to kill him. Personally, this is one of the ways it can make more sense for people to reconcile belief in Creation and the theory of evolution. But my dad also is very right-wing and as such has quite a few opposing viewpoints to myself, but at least there are things that we can agree upon. I have a feeling the Rapture in After is based on the popular conception, rather than the ideas my dad has, but I wanted to give this little tidbit. Plus, I guess these stories are happenning now, since Raptre was supposed to be earlier ths month...
