i'll also add to what Bravo said because i think he makes a good point and lets face it, Nazi Occupied Greece isnt an area we're all very aware of. but by the time of the occupation, a lot of citizens had previous battle experience fighting the Italians and what not. this sort of thing would have been very possible i think actually. read up on Nazi Resistance and lash back, not just in Greece, but from all over at hte time, and you'll be surprised what you read.

Oh by the way, that body count was modest. In real events in city warfare during the Occupation in Athens, the partisans did FAR worse and the Germans didn't look good. But I knew if I reported the REAL impact of ambushes like the one you referred do, I'd be accused of cartooniness and lack of realism. In Greece the Nazi troops occupying were feared for ruthlessness but they were never considered efficient in keeping the Resistance at bay. It was a mess that even Hitler himself admitted to not handling nearly as well as he professed.

Ah, Bravo said it all :) And the reason I update so sparcely is because basically I'm in the middle of a ton of activism to help my country right now, and that involves a lot of studying and composition of legal documents and dealing with a state that doesn't observe any laws anymore, all of it while people around me are falling apart and starving or becoming homeless- right NOW. So I do try to update as fast as possible but... this is the best I can do. I know that when the comic is finished the scenes will feel short, the flow will be exactly as I want it, because you will just need to turn the page, rather than wait a month for the next one. The names... well they're Greek names so sometimes 'microfilm kid' might work better for you. XD

And you'd be surprised what one or two good snipers can do to a whole bunch of guys just standing around with no cover. Look at Stalingrad as depicted in Enemy at the Gates.

I'll take a stab at giving the backstory of why the Nazi's get their butt kicked based on my expertise on Nazi uniforms. They weren't the Army so had only minimal military training. They were the Staatspolizei or police! The actual garrison troops in Greece and the ones who carried out the reprisals were the garrison police not the Army. In fact the Army looked down on these guys as amateurs and really hated it when they were put in near identical uniforms so the Army would be even more easily mistaken for them. The number of buttons on the uniform tunics is twice as many as it should be for the Army therefore they're Staatspolitzei (literally State Police) and they're generally missing all the field gear the Army had to have on them because of uniform regulations. Tantz did her homework. The Politzei eventually had to call in the experts because it did get out of hand and that segues into the conversation between the two soldiers later on about how messy things were handled.
