It was a balmy night in Townston, the kind of night that made you feel hard boiled and cynical. The kind of night that made you narrate things in the past tense even though they were happening right now.
I was leaning back in my chair to enjoy a scotch on the rocks and some hard boiled internal monologing, when a hysterical broad burst in.
She was babbling about hard nosed, no good nics; a gang of mafia mooks running wild in an uncaring city.
This broad was tall as Everest and twice as hard to climb, the only thing longer then her legs was the list of suspects.
This town attracted crooks faster then the white house and senate combined, crooks and hustlers on every street corner, and all the hookers were as ugly as Satan himself.
Zeph was the obvious suspect, too long spent no reading furry comics could drive a man to do crazy things…

I told the dame I'd take the case.
