Also decided upon hearing this again that i want to break straight into the ending of my comic rather than the rest of the story. Is this a bad idea? Starting from the final battle and going back to decide wht happens up until it.

Starting at the ending could work. I don't know a lot of stories that use it but the first one that comes to mind is Memento of course. And the prelude to sleeper, a wildstorm comic. You should be carefull not to release too much of the plot at the end though.
I think doing something like they do in NCIS would work too, showing a little piece of somethin that happens in a couple of pages and then work up to that slowly..?

He calmly put the noose around his neck and prepared to jump and break his neck. Before he could jump off the platform. He was grabbed and hoisted up from behind. “Oh no you don’t. That is just sick. Common we are getting you some help.†TheFlyingGreenMonkey cleared the lynching platform, carrying I Am The 1337 Master off.
As soon as the mayor was walking off with the citizen, Kroatz quickly marched Same up the steps and put the noose around his neck. He turned around to reach for the switch, but someone was already there. “No one hangs today,†said jninjashadow.
Same was pardoned.
