Character height is not something we think about too much but it's actually a fairly big deal: in terms of what the height means, what it means contextually, how the character fits into their world, how they relate to others around them, and how it's like to draw them!
A character can loom, they can shrink down, they can appear bigger than they are due to force of personality or smaller due to being shy and retiring, Largeness can equal power and strength, stupid docility, threat, potential, or it can be used to highlight the strength of a much smaller character that beats them as in many animes.
It can be very tricky to get a good sense of the size of characters in relation to others and how they fit within the world, just using chairs for example can make a huge difference depending on the characters.
This week Gunwallace has given us the theme to Lyza's Sandstorm - Softly, pacing, creeping, exploring the haunted vastness of the empty space. Abandoned, wind whistles through, distant creaking, the soul has left the building but something dark remains… waiting.

The Maniac's height has caused me to amend my ideas of certain stories. So as not to give the wrong impression.

The Maniac is approximately 12 foot tall. He can giant up or shrink down but normally about 12ft. Most of my other characters are "normal" sized what ever that means. Commodore Roberts is high side of 6ft.

Yes, I have thought about Height on my characters. Height in my story is important for visual aspect of the angels and Fallen ones. SolarCell is about 6 feet 2 inches, (187.96 cm). Her mother, Gluttony is from 20 Feet to 35 feet. (she grows with power). The other sins are between 5'7" to 6'4". The children of Sins are 5'5" to 5'10". The angels and fallen angels are between 15 to 40 feet. When Darkbeauty comes to the story, she is 5'9". AND when it comes time, I'll tell you all about the Fairies, dwarfs and Elves.

I remember the Fist of the North Star serie, where character height was entirely dependent on dramatic effect: Raoh is one head taller than Kenshiro, but then he fights with the "cluds" guy and this guy is more or less as big as a single arm of Raoh, but the same cloud guy was represented as being the same size of Kenshiro in other episodes. Lol!

That's a really interesting point. ALL my characters have been 5'10". Even the dwarves.
