Lite Bites Review of LUGNOR SERIES, pt 2/2

There wasn't a consensus on this one. Shasta liked the art and enjoyed the stories for both comics. Genejoke and El Cid both thought the art needs a lot of work still, even though it has improved. The frenetic action sequences seem to be the strong point of both comics, as they're generally pulled off quite well.

There's a lot more to say about the Lugnor comics, good and bad, but only so much space for a review. The comics both have their issues, but they weren't a chore to read like some others we've trudged through in the past. At least give them a look and make up your own mind!

Carmen's the smart one. Angie's the ditz! Sorry about getting your character wrong. I tried to find a comic of yours that has her in it so I could get a feel for her personality, but all I could find was a bio pic in the forum.

Note again: I only read Tales of Lugnor. I haven't even read a page of Lugnor Riders, which may differ in quality. Also, Sparkle is so articulate in this review. I know that for a review she needs to be able to get her point across, but it's funny to see my remedial stdent who never finished high school be so eloquent. It's like seeing Carmen make cogent, articulate points in her parts, even though she is actually quite a ditzy character (and we love her for it).

As El Cid pointed out. The second page was nicer. @jerrie: Reviews are usually harsh, but they really really help to make you better. I've had terrible reviews which made me take it up a notch

@plymayer, you are spot on there. Hell my traditional work is FAR from great. I've had some critical reviews myself, it stings but they have all served to make me improve and I hope that is what we encourage Jerrie to do. I honestly believe Jerrie can improve loads. I was actually looking back at the comics we have reviewed already and while few are already defunct others have made an effort to improve or have developed since review and it will be interesting to go back and revisit them at some point.

Also, hope you're not too peeved about the review, Jerrie. The thing about the characters is something I've actually grumbled about in your comments section before. There were several things we liked about the comic (most of the positive comments were given to Shasta's character, just to keep the reviewers consistent), but there's always room to improve. That goes for everybody's comics, including Genejoke's and mine. But the most important thing is having fun with it. Like Plymayer said, it's an amateur comic site, nobody's paying you, do what you love doing. We're just pointing this stuff out because, well, that's what a good critic does!

HHhhmmmm...... DD is a amateur comic site. If Jerrie enjoys making the comics, and we enjoy reading them.....DD has done it's job :)

I'd recommend them despite some of the shortcomings you mentioned. They are just fun to read. Reminds me of some of the underground comix and scifi movies I loved growing up.

Remember it's three people opinions and they all varied a bit. We were hardest on the art as we think that should be a big draw on a comic like this. I have posted a bit more in the forum if you want to check it out.

wow. well...wow. I don't know what to say.hopefully...maybe... in the future you may like the comic better. Thanks again for taking the time to review it.(wow...you don't even like the characters? wow)
