Lite Bites Review: SHADES, p 5/7

El Cid sez: Cheesiest superhero battle ever? Meh, I've seen worse!

If I had to pick one thing that bothered me about SHADES, it was that the meat of the plot wasn't all that ambitious, and not nearly as cerebral as I'd expected. That said, it is well written and perfectly paced, and the plot seems to be mostly a backdrop for the more rewarding elements, so in that sense it might have detracted if the plot were too complex.

Reviewer Quotes:

The art in this comic is great. There may have been two artists, but if I hadn't been informed I might not have noticed. They're both great at capturing this world, and their styles so close to each other that the transition halfway through worked very well.

Two artists, both were clearly well set in their styles before starting on the comic. Both are very good and while it isn't all that flashy it is always solid and never fails to get everything intended across. They bring the visual grittiness to the comic excellently, I could imagine either drawing comics like hellblazer quite easily.
