This story is a perfect example of how the art adds deeper meanings to a story. I'd envisioned it in the modern day, but didn't specify, because the point was to leave it vague enough for interpretation. In actuality, it was written for the stage (same with "Forgotten Revelations"), as a very short play. However, it works better as a comic, I think (who would pay to see such a short play?). Bravo to Bravo for doing an excellent job (yes, I like silly humor from time to time).

Originally it ended with the girl alseep. It was my idea to tack on her being discovered by someone, in this case; his excellentcy, Gen'l G. Washington and Dr. Benj. Franklin, elected representative to the Continental Congress. The time is the fall of 1776 when Franklin had an attack of gout and was visiting Washington in his capacity as a member of the War Committee. This is a fete put on by some socialite in New York City to show off to her snobbish friends that she knows the two greatest men in America. The off-white uniforms are correct for several NJ and NY reg'ts and the cavalryman in the last panel from Washington's escort is wearing the same common Continental Army issue coat as the little girl. As one observed at the time, "You have created a new republic, do with it what you will."
