Think of this as a star wars kind of future, no need for space suits… don't think about it.

The basic background that will get alluded to here but isn't told explicitly as it could have bogged the story down, but this is set in a space faring future where humanity spread to the stars and the unified human government spread far and wide. Too far and too wide and eventually collapsed leading to a sort of space faring dark ages.
