I love squirrels in general - save when they decided to invade my house one summer :)

Our neighbours used to have a pet squirrel, too, along with a couple of cats that are still about. That squirrel hardly ever left the house, and it and the cats had a very similar shaky truce, behaving to each other quite in the same way as this one and Tiger do in the comic. When the real squirrel left the house one day, though, it met with its untimely demise. Embarassingly enough it was our tom, Juli (may he rest in peace all the same) who did it. Our neighbours understood however, and we're still good friends to this day.

I love the squirrel. We had one when I was a kid. My sister found it at the base of a tree. The tiny thing was not more than a few days old. We fed it with an eye dropper, and it grew to a healthy adult. He eventually answered the call of the wild and went to a nearby woods. He would respond when we called him, but he never came close to us again. Just as well, I suppose.
