The Top Drawer (the real one) was like a very seedy nightclub. That's how it became anyway. Where drug addicts, prostitutes, and small time gangsters liked to hang out… Where runaway teens arrive and get started on a life of degradation on the streets (Shplane).

Sure, some cool bohemian types liked to hang out there (me of course, and others), but the seedy atmosphere was even too much for them at times.

A depressing place that smelt like urine and stale beer… The sort of place where people slowly end their lives.

I was one of the ones who wanted TD back when it was taken away, but I now see it was a good idea to remove it. The people in this thread would probably enjoy it quite a bit, but how long till' the assholes and dramawhores(yes me too) come in to ruin everything and drive the new members out? The majority of the people in this thread haven't seen how nasty and tenacious it became.(like gonorrhea ^_^)

I think there's a good chance it could be fine if people could actually be banned for their faggotry or have some sort of ‘strike system’ where you get 3 warnings for light stuff before you're banned(have an actual set of rules too) but I doubt ozone or anybody else wants to put the effort into that.

The Top Drawer is a weird idea to try and bring back because for it to be back in any significant way it would essentially have to be given it's own set of rules and moderators etc. in order for it to maintain some semblance of its' original personality while still meeting the requirements of Drunkduck proper. In essence, it would have to be it's own forum. Which, uh… I guess it is, since someone started a new one on another site.

Yeah… Seeing as how most of the moderating influences on the behavior there are no longer present even on the rest of the forums I kinda doubt that would be a good idea. ( Not that those of us who managed to retain our dignity could have influenced that mob much. )

Besides, those posters who had something to contribute like Skull have moved to the rest of the boards and have added a measure of levity minus the drama. I kind of like it that way.
