also guys hair is very strict. (more so outside the airforce). your mustache can't touch the lip, and the hair can't go past the corners of the mouth. hair on top of your head, must be at maximum 3/4 of an inch where it tapers off. no more than an 1-1/2 inch in bulk on top.


Why?

short hair is more proffesional

The enemy can't pull your hair if it's gone.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: The Anti Sprite Coalition on fire off the shoulder of Cut and Paste. I watched Top Drawer glitter in the dark near the Forumhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like… tears in the rain.

Why?
There is no logical reason anymore. In the past it was about a disciplined look and and easy way to avoid parasites and too much grooming. These days it's mainly a mixture of overlapping traditions and bureaucracy.
…I'd say that was the case anyway.

i went on the air force “tech school diet” and gained 14 pounds in a year….these pictures were taken just under a year apart….

left-Jan 06, right Feb 05.
