I got:

Two books, both about animation, one about its history, and the other about Ray Harryhausen, who is great and awesome.

A tripod and a camera.

American McGee's Alice, which is a rare example of the ‘gloomy, gothic Alice’ thing done right.

An iPod Touch.

A tiny village made of wood.

Deodorant, apparently my nana thinks I smell.

The real present though, was watching my brother trying to get the dog to pull a cracker with him.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot the mention the dentist tools which I also received.
Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.

Merry Christmas to all…

We (sadly) got no food stuffs. But, we made out like bandits this year. I got this book I've been wanting for some time (“Rhett Butler's People”, I am SUCH a nerdy geek sometimes) The first season of Dark Angel (Hey, the first season is “girl power” sci-fi gold.) Various movies, video games…liquor glasses, and praise be to the “elves of Santa” for the invention of the gift card. (Now, I can buy my own foodstuffs.)

Hope all ya'll out there had a wonderful holiday.—Lynn

Aurora Borealis
Also got two book by William Burroughs: The Place of Dead Roads and The Ticket That Exploded and Haruki Murakami's “Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World”.

Haruki Murakami! His tone is so dreamlike. Such a wonderful writing style.

The surprise gift this year was a box of 132 Prismacolors. I still somehow feel that I can't touch them.

The non-surprise gift is a box ‘o’ Photoshop, but which suite it is will be a surprise, since it isn't here yet.

I see nothing wrong with that. You gotta like a girl who can defend herself, then chase down her attempted mugger and mug him.

I got a knife for Christmas as a late present myself. And I get mistaken for a guy all the time too! Maybe there's a correlation?

Hahahaha!!!

I got knife sets myself too… although in my case it wasn't quite the kitchen variety that everyone seemed to get. I collect exotic and unusual weapons…. so guess what I got? Yep, a big nice Fantasy sword set. it's got this nice dragon motif on them. it's basically a long sword, a short sword, and a dagger for the whole set. since it's made out of real metal, and not just the cheap display stuff, it's actually a very expensive set too. =o

when I have the time, I'll be sure to take pictures of my weapon set! =D and you know something? finally I have some real swords to use as models for any of my comic/art scenes that requires them!

Before, all I had in my set was mostly the smaller stuff… Chinese fighting fans (the kind that has those pointy, sharp edges), sais, etc… you get the idea. So yeah, I never expected that I would actually get an actual sword. ^^

oh yeah… I got two games and a wireless keyboard for my ps3 too. The games are Eternal Sonata and Valkyria Chronicles. Haven't played Eternal Sonata yet, but Valkyria's enjoyable so far. :)

I enjoy the fact that I can now chat easily on little big planet and in PS3 home.
I'm on hitatus while I redo one of my webcomics. Be sure to check it out when I'n done! :)

Finally got an Intuos3 Wacom A4 tablet.
New shirt.
Art Materials
Lava lamp
Room Lantern (a VERY cool one)
A ball that glows when it hits something. It's black and has a skull crossbone design. The skull glows various colors when it gets hit 8D. The skull is also always facing up. I don't know what they call this ball but it sure is cool and fun to play with when I'm bored.
A teddy Bear (don't laugh)

So far so good. I don't have any tech gadgets aside from the Intuos3 this year but I'm pretty happy with it. I also spent Christmas with my girlfriend. Good times… good times.

RE: Knives as presents.

Anyone ever heard of the superstition that you can't give knives, scissors, sharp things as presents, or you'll “sever” your relationship with the recipient of the gift? I've always abided by the tradition of “paying” the giver; you give them a penny as a symbolic “payment”, so the knife isn't actually a gift… Uh, yeah. I'm a weirdo.

Never heard that one, but I have heard the belief that a knife or other blade can embody a past mistake, violent act or other action that you're ashamed or wanting to pay penance for. I have a knife that I keep for that reason myself.

Some nice things, but the three I can remember are my 5 disc Okami soundtrack, the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack and a cookery book on Brownie recipes.

Now if only I could cook…
