Episode 181 - Colour your world! part 2

Aug 14, 2014

This is part 2 and the final of our look at advanced colouring techniques. This week we had even more heavy hitters with fantastic ability and skill weighing in on the topic of colouring. These guys can teach us a LOT! We like to do these technical Quackcast subjects to hopefully help people improve their comicing skills and it's great to have people sharing the wisdom of what they've learned while they've been making comics themselves and spreading it around to the rest of us!

Fantastic tips, tricks and new perspectives on color usage. I'll definitely have to keep these things in mind. On an unrelated note, Ozone's version of Kawaii was extraordinarily close to Mrs. Doubtfire. Hilarious.

hehehe. Yes, I realised after my year in Canada, I have been adding the English "u" in pretty much every word where it is an option. There has been more humour, favourites, and colours in my regular language. Differentiating between spelling between English words is almost like writing a foreign language without all the trouble. I prefer my warm colours to be around 132 degrees Fahrenheit. I laughed out loud at the "learning how to pair colours using legos" part. Also, my wardrobe is like a bumblebee?! I guess I like Burt's Bees products and honey and beewax are pretty cool, so I will take it.

Mwhaha! I'm small but terrifying! I was dying to know what voice I'd have, now that I know I can rest! I love ALL the voices!:D The lineless style I was referring to was the one I used on this page: http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Charby_the_Vampirate/5335633/ As for the brush mode option in other programs, I'm pretty sure it's also in GIMP and Sai. Last I checked anyway! I forgot what else I needed to respond to I was too involved in listening to the rest of the QC :P Great show guys!

Oz & Banes, it's not colored pencil. It's just a semitransparent layer of flat digital color on scanned pencil art. I can't use colored pencils. (When I try, it ends up looking like a monkey used its feet and smeared it with its monkey-butt.) My days off are Monday and Tuesday -- for the next month anyway.
