Originally, I had planned for the last panel of last week’s page to be a splash page. Things got paced oddly as I was putting pictures on paper. This one went from multi-paneled, to one panel with dialogue, to this. Ultimately, I decided silence fit the moment best.
In an alternate version of this fight, Valentine drugs Yuki as soon as he arrives, and Yuki manages to thoroughly beat him up as the drug takes effect. He only “wins” by Caroline appearing and trying to attack him (uselessly), so he takes her hostage as Yuki passes out. Basically, I ended up turning the entire fight inside out, saying more for Val in terms of his physical prowess (he still “cheats” a little) and maybe something of Yuki’s emotional state. (Plus, I didn’t want Caroline to be quite so helpless.)
Simsational Stories: Thanks. I cobbled together my own style over the years by failing at copying others.
Genejoke: That he is.
KimLuster: Well put. XD
Anubis: Decided to skip to the silence. Ol' Red has been talking way too much.
tupapayon: Not nearly enough physical comedy in hard-boiled dramas.
ghostrunner: I'll try to provide release.
Peipei: Finally got him to shut up.
plymayer: You said it, so I don't have to.

Hopefully he's not dead. I mean, it would be good to get rid of this scumbag, but it'd probably scar Caroline for life.

Don't just stand there - he's dangerous! Tie him up.

Hahaha... how come nobody's laughing?... anyways... silence works for me in this case...

Perfect expression for someone who may have just caved a skull in (even if it was necessary)!

Great upward angle shot, there! That must have been quite a wallop, to put a dent into that steel fire extinguisher bottle.

I could hear the clonk...
