I hate it that I finally have my DD account home page set up so that no matter what I'm in the mood for art-wise I have an appropriate place to upload the darn thing; the goal being to produce something at least every other day.

Good eh?

But I still won't apply pencil to paper and get the #^&@)*!& art work done so that I can upload it and feel good about myself! I hate procrastination and activity avoidance!

Cough! Not so much, you'll notice, that I will stop participating in these forums and do my damn art work as I fully intended. So, perhaps I just mildly dislike procrastination and activity avoidance instead. Yeah, that's the ticket! Heck, maybe I'm actually and subconsciously quite fond of procrastination and activity avoidance, now that I think about it. Perhaps . . . yes, perhaps I'm totally in love with those aspects of my nature and personal habits.

Ah-ha!

Of course, I'm STILL not producing art work or even bothering to upload what I've already got sitting inside dust covered sketch books.

I wonder if . . . wait a second, pardon me. I'll be back in just a second or two . . . WHACK! Arrrrrrrrgh! Son of a !(*#^@&*ing mother&^%%(%$ing slag of a gutter snipe! that hurts!

Nope, nope, I must report that slamming my head between a door post and a door doesn't motivate me to get off my duff and produce art work. It does hurt like the devil, though. Oh well, it was worth a try. Nice theory and all that you know.

Sigh!

In doing research for my comics, I happen to come across stories told by Filipino troops about their war experiences against the commies and muslim extremists.

And yes some of that stuff made me a bit misty eyed.

Its very sad that these heroes are not appreciated enough for the sacrifices they do for the country. Especially the lowest-ranking troops who get paid about PhP 8,000 ($186.107 US) a month. And this particular story about a soldier who lost his buddy because the helicopter didnt arrive because it was used by some shit politician!

Its very sad that these brave soldiers do not get the same recognition given to USA and Canadian troops in their home countries.

They die so that the country will not become a communist state or an islamic theocracy.

I truely salute these unsung heroes.

Truthfully Kyupol, I wouldn't want recognition for the things I have done… Most people couldnt understand from the perspective of a soldier, but trust me, the LAST thing I want is a Medal of Honor…

I'm not saying that people shouldn't be recognized for valorous deeds and such, but most “recognition” you see of American soldiers nowadays is utter shite. I forget her name (because I resent the woman), but the one soldier who was the only one to survive an attack on her convoy was dubbed a “hero” by the press…

You want to know how she was found?

SLEEPING IN HER FUCKING TRUCK, WITH HER FUCKING WEAPON IN A GARBAGE BAG!

She never even tried to fire ONE SHOT. Not one… And she was labeled as a “War Hero”.

Trust me, publicity is bullshit. Personally, I believe that the real heroes are the ones who are out there day after day, fighting for what they believe in. More than anyone else, I believe that soldiers wounded or killed in action are the TRUE heroes. They gave up their own health to ensure the safety/freedom of people they never met.

LAST thing I want is a Medal of Honor…

but why? If you did something that deserves it, why not?

All that fame and cash that comes with it (Filipino troops get their salaries doubled and promoted 2 ranks for doing something heroic. Not sure about rewards for USA army troops though.), and possible movies be made about your immortal exploits?

Why not? I don't quite understand.

Jessica Lynch.

Well I'd say life is just unfair. But I think the press needed a poster child of a woman hero soldier or something.

Ive nothing against woman heroes though. If they are capable of heroism in combat, so be it and let them get the same honor given to male soldiers. Gender, race, social class, religion, etc. doesnt matter.

Yeah, we get nothing but a cheap ribbon… No doubled pay, our movies suck, and fame? HA!

kyupol
Why not? I don't quite understand.

Roy Benavidez, one of the bravest men to EVER serve in the American Army, and a Medal of Honor recipient, often says he never wanted the medal to begin with. You may not be able to understand, but there are things most people wouldnt want recognition for. He too this day still says the REAL people who deserved to be dubbed heroes are the ones who gave up their lives, not him.

kyupol
Jessica Lynch.

Fuck her.

Either do I, in the American military, the only difference between a woman and a man, is that women can't be “combat arms”, Which is just a fancy word for a job that consists mainly of battle. There are PLENTY of outstanding female heroines, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm half the soldier they are.

What? I'm doubtful of this because the USA is the richest country in the world and all I thought is that the USA rewards its troops by giving them cars or houses. :)

With respect to American war movies, I liked:

- Saving Private Ryan
- Platoon
- Apocalypse Now
- Hart's War
- Windtalkers (just the action even though its unrealistic)
- We Were Soldiers
- Pearl Harbor (one of the best actually)

At least you guys get lots of war movies. For Filipino made war movies, its probably less than 10 (I suppose the commies threaten movie producers not to portray them as the bad guys while they looove pumping out propaganda demonizing the government :( See youtube. ).

Though I'd recommend you watch a subbed version of MISTAH. It is about the war in Mindanao (south of the Philippines). It has claimed at least 100k lives (mostly civilian) since it started. Without that war, I can say that the Philippines should be more progressive than South Korea and possibly at par with Japan because war is like a financial hemmorrhage on a country's economy.

Roy Benavidez

I just read up on him and I'd just say WOW. They should make a movie about him (or is there already one made I dunno). I'm not even 1/10th the man he is. :(

Some people just got better genes than others.

Maybe you might be better at something else aside from drawing. Just try your best though. Or try finding that which you'd just fall into place.

Its like finding ‘the one’ ya know.

I just CANT chow down too much no matter how much I try. At the most I'd have 2 plates of food. And by then I'd just feel sluggish. :(

I eat less these days. As if my stomach has shrunk or something.

But still my weight has remained consistent. Maybe I gained 5-10 pounds in a span of a year since I took a break from that martial arts thing. 5 pounds… cuz I DO exercise everyday but not with the same intensity as I used to. I'm one of those people who NEED a trainer to motivate me or something. lol

Still. My metabolism SUX ASS!!!

Any girl or little kid can beat me in an eating contest. :(
