Wow, I have off again tomorrow. Normally my school's really cheap when it comes to snow, but they really pulled out all the stops this time. SIX DAY WEEKEND, WHATEVER.
At least you're used to snow. I'm down in Louisiana right now and it's supposed to snow Friday (it NEVER snows down here). Plus they're saying it's going to be around 40-45 degrees throughout most of next week. Mardi Gras is going to suck this year!

There are some nights when I'm too scared to sleep, lest a guy with white and red makeup and funny clothes will break into my house and consume me… O_O
You mean Ironscarf?
Yeah, I worry about that sometimes too.

Safest bet is to leave some crumpled scarves out. If there's scarves to iron, I'll usually just leave them in a neat pile by the bed and go. Usually. :O

I have to spend all next week painting a bedroom, when all I wanted to do was finish painting my next comic page - frustrating. There's not much to do so I might be able to find some time in the early hours. I just hate to lose the flow when I'm on a roll (If you can call one a month a roll).

Drunkduck going down all the time gets on my nerves… lost a whole bunch of opportunities to throw the link at someone today :(

Oh well, at least I promoted some of my new art instead.

Sorry guys, it has to do with the server move. They're trying to turn the old server off, but apparently something is still linking to it and turning off the old server shuts the whole place down. They've been spending the last few hours on it trying to figure out where the problem is.

I was wondering why Drunkduck keeps dropping off the web. I hope they get the problem fixed soon. :)

When Drunk Duck is down you can usually go here and get updates about what's happening:
http://community.livejournal.com/drunkduck

…depending if I'm awake to post or not.

I'll also post on my Twitter account if I remember: http://twitter.com/Ozoneocean

I didn't for this most recent one because I forgot and I was going to bed anyway.

wow… just woke up from a dream where I was playing golf with members of the Drunkduck community. This is what I get when I leave the TV on the Golf Channel when I fall asleep…

There's Ozone, who was wearing one of his military uniforms while taking a swing at the ball. Pitface got a hole in one by taking an extremely violent swing at the ball on a par 5 course… and she bent the golf club in the process. 733t Master kept missing the ball at the teeoff, and Same smacked him in the head with a 9 iron after his 12th attempt.

yeah… I really need to turn off my TV when I fall asleep. O_O

IT HAPPENED TO YOU TOO?

I couldn't get on all yesterday! It killed me cause I've actually been updating!

And I went to my school's battle of the bands yesterday. Found out that my neighbor's a freaking beast. I don't know if he has stuff out on the web but one of his band's is Sun Bears and the other is Tyler and Joel. Sun Bears is soloing awesomeness and Tyler and Joel is soft awesomeness.

And I got a party today that celebrates me! :D

The problem with losing weight is that I can't afford new clothes. I bought some new clothes last year that really fit me well and look good (and I have a huge problem doing that; it's a small miracle), but now my jeans sag in the rear and I have to pull them up all the time. My shirts hang too low, and my underthings don't fit me, so I'm uncomfortable. :-/ Now I look worse than I did 30 pounds ago because my clothes don't fit, and I feel weird because I'm not used to things being “too big” just “too small.” (I'm still much larger than my friends and family members, so I can't borrow their clothes.)

On the bright side, I think it's an indication that my dieting is working. I guess that outweighs the minor (hopefully temporary) annoyance of ill-fitting attire. I do look forward to the day I can pull out my jeans like the people on TV and show everyone my “big pants” from yesteryear.

I believe I have a reason to rant now. I recently survived a homicide attempt by the littlest things, which God, in his wisdom, had put upon this Earth.

Last week I started showing some standard flu symptoms. It started off slow, runny nose, sinus headaches ending with a wet cough by the end of the week. On Saturday I was feeling much better and I figured I was done with the thing by Sunday. Last Monday however, I woke up with chest pains. As the day progressed, it got increasingly worse so I decided to book a time with a chiropractor the next morning (I've had chest pains, caused by my left shoulder blade before which this guy had fixed). I didn't get any sleep that night because of the pains. When I almost passed out during the appointment, I got shipped over to the hospital via an ambulance where I was diagnosed with a viral infection in my frigging heart. I just got released yesterday after being constantly doped up with anti-inflammatory drugs and I need to be on similar drugs for the next week and a half. By then I have to visit a doctor for a checkup. I've been told that I can't exercise, dance, pick up heavy object, anything that could make my heart race for the next few weeks so February is looking to be a pretty dull month for me.

At least I can be glad I live in a age where this kind of stuff can be treated. Without the treatment, I could have either a) died or b) suffered permanent heart damage causing me to be sick for the rest of my life. Take that people who think we're better off without science.
Those were my two cents.

I take it you're not doing that “extreme dieting” thing? I'm glad I stopped. Long ago I was doing the Slimfast diet and found that if you stopped even for a bit you'd gain your weight back twice as fast. Nowadays I just exercise and keep an eye on my diet, though this is to help treat my own medical problems. :)

Nah, I won't try SlimFast. Too much sugar. I want to lose weight to decrease diabetes risk, so that would defeat the purpose.

I just stopped all my bad habits. I don't eat seconds. I have proper proportions of things. If I have a snack, it's a single serving – and accounted for (as are any beverages besides water). I avoid eating late at night (which also has been fixing my insomnia). I keep to about 1800 to 2000 calories a day. Not a “crash diet” by any means. Originally, I counted calories and kept records, but now I have established the habits, so I don't have to be the fanatical calorie-counter. It's actually not a temporary thing. I mean to eat like this forever. It's what I should have been doing all along.

I plateaued a little around Christmas, but I didn't gain any weight then. The secret is being able to stop after ONE chocolate. ;) Self-control is a beautiful thing.

I am starting to be able to be a little more active now too. It hurt too much when I was REALLY heavy. I can't do intense exercise, but I swim. And once it gets warmer, I'll be able to go hiking and canoeing again.

heh… never could do the calorie counting thing. I just watch what I eat and how much of it when I do. My diet is mostly fish and vegetables though, but that's because I happen to love those things. I will eat beef and chicken, but when I do I tend to have it with a bowl of unsweetened oatmeal since it helps keep my cholesterol levels down. However, I will always steer clear of pork. Not sure why, but eating pork will make my blood sugar levels skyrocket. I let my family know of this so when they serve roast pig during family celebrations I'm not “pressured” into eating any of it.

So far my blood sugar is well controlled and my cholesterol is about 60 or so (he tells me if it's over 90 I've got a problem). High blood pressure is something else down but I've been taking meds that keep it around 130/80 or so.

I live with my parents. I don't really get to choose what I eat, just how much.

However, my mom needs to lose weight for surgery, and my dad is diabetic and allergic to wheat gluten. Both have to watch cholesterol. So our household is fairly low sweets, low carbs, and low fat anyway.

The only way i've managed to keep out the sweets is to not buy them. I have very little self control when it comes to sweet things. so the best option is to never buy it.

dang it. i bought a wireless router that is complete crap. the first time i buy something without doing some research, and it destroys me….sigh. it's a known issue that sometimes the router just stops talking to the modem. just stops. refuses even. it could last from seconds to….weeks. so i went back to my old wired router. haven't been able to play video games since. because they are downstairs…and the computer room is upstairs.

there is an open source software for it, but software is my weak point, and if i were to do it wrong, i'd brick it.

fixed for now.

off to watch hurt locker.

Luckily I've got my old DVD R/W drive as a standby. And even better… it still works great! Not gonna take any chances though. I'll have to go get a brand new DVD R/W drive as soon as I can…

Why that's terrible Product Placement! I sure would have been saddened if you had died. I agree that good health care service is essential in a modern society.

Fine. I guess if nobody finds my brush with death to be that interesting, then let me tell you about a crazy dream I had during one of my drug induced sleep.

The downtown district of the city I live in had been transformed into a giant, outdoor studio that was filming a game show, in which I was a contestant. My final task was to pick a structure from a predetermined list and build it, using guano as the main building material. I decided to pick a Nazi research institute that was famous for its attempts in researching immortality and I opted to place it on a hill that's located in the downtown district, next to a statue of a famous explorer who sailed around the oceans over thousand years ago. The guano was mixed with red coloring, giving it a rubbery texture and appearance. In essence the building became a giant jumping castle.

Now I have no idea if the Nazis actually studied immortality or if a building like that actually existed but it did look pretty sweet in my dream.
Those were my two cents.

Why I was just about to ask. But now it'll look like I was just asking because no one else did. Oh well, do get well soon.

Anyway, on a more serious note: My friend refuses to sign on MSN so he can send me the MSPA soundtracks. Grrrrr!

Funniest birthday card ever!
Dead clown in alleyway on front. Inside it reads “We had a little trouble with the entertainment” On the back it reads “But the dancing monkey's still available”

And I saw Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif. IT SUCKED. No really! I loved that book but terrible acting, not following the book at all, and only one enjoyable character (Hades!) made it one of the worst I've seen.

I mean it was REALLY REALLY BAD!

So I got this comment on my comic:

“good to see u bak. Also, go check out my pokemon graphites newpage, hope you like giant togekiss's!
Also, could ya read my new comic pokemon mother 3 edition. The only oner who really reads it is beta. thnx!”

I know this kinda comments are commonplace around DD, but still, DUDE, what the fuck are you thinking? Like that's gonna attract my attention? Why is it that every single sprite-comic ‘artist’ seems to be somewhat ‘lacking’ in plain common sense?

If you want people to check out your comic, TRY ACTUALLY COMMMENTING ABOUT THE COMIC.

I know it's nothing to get angry about, but why must some people be so fricking stupid? Sheez.

they're more hoping that they'll get your readers to look at it that you. it's a pretty old, cheap trick that seems popular on the internet for losers that want to get attention.

assume all sprite comics are run but borderline-retards with ADD, a colossal sense of entitlement, and tourettes. it's the only way. well, that or fire.

actually, apply fire first. fire seems to work pretty well.

Well if they're new they can't help it but yes that is the best way. I believe that the person just pulled something stupid in saying that becuase they really wanted a reader but we should also not be jerks to them for a few stupid words. And yes, sometimes people do that on comics to tick other people off. If they're not new, it could just be a stupid idea, in other words what I just said.

I just bought 7 CD's andI'm loving them!!!

Yeah. I figured as much.

It was an interesting experience to say the least. I had to stay in the heart ward while they monitored my ticker. I was the youngest person there by far.

I'm just glad that they have drugs that can reduce the swelling and help the heart recover from something like this. Can't imagine letting something as stupid as a common flu get the best of me. It wasn't even the god damned swine flu. Now I have to take it easy for a month or so while recovering from this thing.

That's freaky. I hope I never get something like that. But for all its commonness, the flu can still kill you. I had a severe bout over 2 years ago. I was sick for a month, in bed solidly with fevers for two weeks, when coughing it tasted of blood, bad headaches… And I was so weak afterward I couldn't walk far without shaking. I was a real invalid for a while lol!
