So, what do you do when you hear there's a evil murderer on the loose, killing people in order to steal their eyes? That's right! You go down dark alleys looking for the fiend of course!

At least, that's what you do if you're an Inquisitor and a rather attractive First Mate on a flying ship in The Chronicles of Wyrden! (Of course, if you're neither of those things, I'd recommend staying at home and reading about the ones who are!)

*********************

D'oh! Cross-posted with Negligence!

So, hands up everyone who thinks Miley Cyrus is the greatest pop sensation since … oh, I don't know. The last Disney wannabe pop sensation? No one? Hey, guess what - there's a club for you guys and you can join now over at Negligence! (There - I name-checked it twice to make up for missing it out before!)

*********************

We've always prided ourselves in trying to make Shades a little different from the more mainstream common-or-garden super hero fare. It's set in the UK for a start, and we've tried to cover it with at least a thin veneer of reality.

In today's instalment, however, we're going right back to super hero basics: guys in strange costumes and villains in heavy armour engaged in aerial combat over a nuclear power station! Damn, it doesn't get much more old skool than that!

@ Shades - Why is that when they have to send the big hulking bruisers in, you know ultimately the good guys will win…but only after a harrowing fight! You're right, DAJB, that is old skool! B)

Off Hours updated today, with a major plot twist – and more zombie humor! A winning combination, to be sure!

With lineart by Pitface from PUTRID MEAT, plus colors, script and lettering by me, Allen from Due East. Again: a winning combination! w00t! (Come see!)

I've said it before, but it is worth saying again.
All involved always bring their A game to the art on Off Hours!
The line about “You already had brains!” was very amusing. I need to start trying to fit that into conversation.

DRAMATIC TENSION! AAHHH! I love how the sequencial storytelling worked to build up drama, and also–I love the little faded stars in the background sky. Little details like that add interest to the art, even if most people wouldn't notice them. And man, that's one dramatic final speech bubble! o_o

I may or may not have ready a post from The Milennium house in the past. The art seems familiar but I can't explicitly remember reading it before. Regardless, this is top notch. Great art and wonderful use of space. I really liked it. Great job on presentation!

William Feist Paranormal Investigator: Man, oh man does reading this take me back to the good old days of comics. I am still reading your gallery but it reminds me of the Books of Magic series. I really am enjoying it, and I know I say this a lot (but only when it is necessary) but I really love your camera angles in this, they are not too extreme and they really help move the story along at a regular and fast pace. Even though there is not much here in the first few issues this comic has a lot going for it already. I mean who doesn't love chain smoking bad boys with a penchant for solving paranormal crimes. Its why I everyone loved Hellblazer, and why we all went to go see that bad Hellblazer movie with Keanu Reeves. Overall, this is an excellent comic effort with a nice fluid style. Keep em coming.

This week in Eternity Dreams: Look ma, no dialogue! Actually, there is a little but it's mostly visuals today. As the plot progresses we slowly move from the (slightly) tamer existence of the Changelings to the harsher areas of the World of Darkness. IE People are chewed on and I draw blood.

Wonderful black-and-white art in CHRONICLES OF WYRDEN—you get a real FEEL for this fantasy world's background, Doctor Shadow.

In the CROSSOVERLORD, Dan of BAD GUY HIGH contributed a page, as the heroes turn to the most unstoppable enemy, the mindless but Juggernautish Red…and he also contributed a fan art of Mindmistress in a Sailor Scout uniform.(See the comments section.) I can't say enough good things about Crossover Lord!

This post is just another example of the unrelenting action from top to bottom, the detail in each panel, the imagination and creativity of the artist, the great use of movement and space to flow the reader from panel to panel. Really well done, I feel like your strip can be used as a “How to draw a good strip” in a lesson book somewhere.

Negligence today features more of Mischa's (I love that name) backstory, plus some teenage angst. An updated cast page featuring her is coming soon.

Also, I've forgotten to post this several times, but I've put up new entries in the filler and fan art page, specifically Jameel as drawn by Putrid Meat's PIT_FACE and a larger version of the new Negligence comic icon.

Not much more to say than ‘rofl’. Great joke, and man, he looks so crestfallen. I want a gravity yo-yo now! And the use of image editing software looks good–the addition of textures add a nice dimension to the art without being overwhelming, like I've seen some comics end up. I like your font and how you shape your speech bubbles.

Ever seen The Hudsucker Proxy? Well, this week's Gelotology looks at a certain little item that may well have been Tim Robbins's third circular invention.

"You know … for kids!"

*****************************

Oops - second week in a row I've cross-posted! The Millennium House is still fairly new but the artwork is looking very nice. I'm not sure if it's painted but it certainly has a painterly feel to it.

Definitely one to keep an eye on!

*****************************

Meanwhile, over in the latest instalment of Shades, the First Century warrior queen Boudicca makes a welcome return, and demonstrates how to use a frisbee (which, to continue the Hudsucker theme, was Tim Robbins's previous invention from that movie).

Sadly, the horn-headed bruiser she's demonstrating it to doesn't seem to have realised he's not supposed to catch it with his teeth!
