I've reported those issues. Hopefully they're already aware of them.
It probably has something to do with the changes in user permissions or services changed or tweekd to help speed up the site.
-I recall that user profiles and avatars would always link directly to your main comic in the old days… They must have removed some of Volte6's old workarounds and redirect code.

I am working on the problems with browsing users and other errors now. ETA = 1.5 hours

Luckily not too many pf my stuff has to be re-done… but there is one bug that keeps coming up that I am wondering about. However,this has been a recurring one for me (don't know if anyone else has it)

The tabs for Comics, News, favorites, won't load. Before the update, it wouldn't work on the main page, but if i moved to like my account, or the forums it would pop up fine.

However, im noticing right now, that since the move. it doesn't matter where I'm at, it is always trying to load the items in those areas and never finishing it.

I'm hoping this issue will be resolved with all the other stuff, as I had not being able to see my fav's and whatnot.

There is a solution coming.- this is what Lawrence has told us. He's investigating whether it might be an issue with file permissions. But at the moment he's probably asleep in his bed.

I made a comic after the date and it is totally broken. Considering everthing is erased I might as well delete the comic and start anew

Nothing is erased apart from the images and any custom HTML.

At the moment comics made after the 13th are just inaccessible, not gone from the site.

I know how annoying that can be. I save all my HTML templates locally just in case. I've screwed up bigtime before and accidentally deleted mine on DD, so it's necessity.

I have a few comics made after the 13th and only one I can't do stuff with.

Suddenly I can't access Without Moonlight. I click on the link to it and I just get the main DD page.

It was working fine until a few minutes ago. Could you PLEASE fix it…?

My comic was made before January 13, and it's not accessible at all (though I can still upload to it). And like Tantz above, accessing it redirects me to the main DD page.

I seem to be having trouble uploading images now, yet I could earlier.

Lawrence is working on it right this minute, which is why we're getting these changes. He hopes to have it all fixed soon.

I think the user page problem has something to do with it searching for the comics instead of the user, I assume because the user sub-domain is broken. If you click mine you end up at my old comic, BffSatan, but the url still says I'm on the user sub-domain. I assume the same would happen for other members who share names with their (or someone elses) comic. E.g. Harkovast.

I just made a comic called “I am the 1337 Master” and it sent me to the comic whence clicking on my avatar.

Any news on when things will be back to, or better than, normal? Cuz my poor comic ain't getting hits if it ain't accessible.

I've tried updating my ‘lost’ pages but nothing happened. This is very frustrating.

What's the status? I've never seen any migration handled so poorly.

- A catastrophic failure by the hosting company meant that the site and backups were lost.
- The site was rolled back to January 13th, the last offsite update available.

Though an ETA for fixes would be nice, I'd rather not rush Lawrence on the job. He's trying hard to get everything fixed a.s.a.p, in the meantime we should all probably chill a bit and take this time to work on some buffers for our comics or even take a break. When we get back, DD will be there, and hopefully feeling better. After all, re-uploading 2 months of images once the site stops hiccuping (even if you're doing a daily comic) is nothing compared to losing the whole shebang like we did in 2005. At least there was a backup, even if it's back in January! I'm not saying we should stop reporting problems that need attention, but we probably shouldn't rush for it to get done either.

The hosting company should have off site backups. That's SOP. The duck should get a refund or something.

Anyways, yeah, I should just probably get back to drawing and make backups of my own.

I don't know when this happened (I was away for the weekend), but the thumbnail for a “comic” that I last updated in December is gone. That one is called “Hey”

The newer, active comic's thumbnail is still around though, and that's the one that counts.

That this thumbnail is missing doesn't really concern me, but I don't understand how quirks like this are happening when originally it seemed that only material from 13 January to present should have been affected.

If I remember correctly, when we had the server migration on the 13th, some images/comics were affected and part of that was knocking out their thumbnails. I wish I could remember what the specific issue was… but I definitely remember having to remake some thumbnails and re-upload them at that time, and they seem to be the same ones missing now. So it's possible it's reverting back to what it had at that point, before people had re-uploaded their images.
