Banes, in case you were unaware, is the gold plated titanium platinum alloyed anchor of the Quackcast. This stand-up Canadian gent has been a solid part of DD for a while now, without his great humour, jovial personality, great talent, and lightning wit this podcast would have died out long ago. Not only that but he's super adaptable and always willing to spend his valuable time to go above and beyond to help members of DD in whatever's going on, always there to be a part of the DD awards and other community projects. Banes donated a great big sum of money to the DD Indiegogo campaign and his reward is this very interview! Tantz Aerine, Pitface and me, Ozoneocean delve into the man behind the mystery that is BANES. Who IS this jovial, friendly, helpful Canadian guy? Well here we try and find out! Episode 258 - Gunwallace music special

We have a special treat this time! Gunwallace is our guest and he's brought with him 15 of his fave tracks that he created as themes for DD webcomics. For two years Gunwallace has been creating fantastic musical themes for webcomics, the total is now over 90! He, Banes and I chat about the background behind the tracks, there are some interesting stories, and the music is awesome! Gunwallace is the author of many great comics and a contributor to even more as a writer, such as the Drunk Duck Plays. Episode 231 - The importance of world building

You always do a bit of world building in fiction, in some types of stories like alternative histories, fantasy and Sci-Fi you have to do a bit more, in things set in the real world you don't have to do nearly as much - maybe only limited to a few rooms, character occupations and relationships etc, rather than planets and political systems, but the point is you're always doing it. There are good ways to do world building and bad ways i.e. work out as many details as you need to but have that all behind the scenes, not introduced as a wall of text or long explanations on how things work. World building should inform you story and make it work seamlessly, not prop it up like a rickety scaffold. The topic of the importance of World Building was previously touched on a few years ago by Skoolmunkee and Kroatz for Quackcast 39, but things happened at that recording was lost to history, so now we approach it again with all new contributions, strident opinions, and points of view on the subject. Gunwallace did a cool theme for Red Velvet Requiem!

You can put the outfit on your own figure and offer your own figure up for use as a model too if you like. Join in the fun, it's super easy. Episode 187 - Epilogue for the 2014 DD Awards with Niccea

As an Epilogue to the fantastic 2014 DD Awards I interviewed Niccea, who did all the main wrangling and organising behind and in front of the scenes on the awards to try and make them happen. And make them happen she DID. The 2014 DD comic awards were a smashing success, with great, high quality contributions by many people as well as great help judging and organising. The annual DD Awards turn into a great little community project with everyone vying to compete to be the best in heir comic categories as well as to try and get new readers through the recognition that the awards provide them. The competition between the presenters is also something that results in some great work. So HOORAY for another successful DD awards!
Episode 177 - Charby the Vampirate forever!

Guess who we had on THIS week? It was Amelius and Evil Emperor Nick! The husband and wife powerhouse behind some very popular comics on DD including Charby The Vampirate and Cwen's Quest. We haven't had them on since Quackcast 10 and 11 which have unfortunately been totally wiped from the interwebs... But that doesn't matter so much since you can hear them both afresh now and they have some goo stuff to say, including talking about the newly revamped version of Charby on charbythevampirate.com that's only up to 50 or so pages as well as the new related project Here there be monsters. We apologise for some slight technical difficulties, but Amy and Nick were good sports anyway and it was a an enjoyable interview!

Ozoneocean has an interview with his OWN webcomic character! The fabulous Pinky of Pinky TA comes to life for reals and submits to interrogation from her creator... The fourth wall is smashed wide open for this one as Ozoneocean tries to uncover the secret of Pinky's real hair colour and just what IS behind those bottomless pants? ...not much it turns out. This is an interesting experiment, trying to see how else you can explore and promote the imersive creative world that is your webcomic! For next week's Quackcast we would love YOU to submit your OWN character interviews, either as answers to the interview questions I have listed in the link bellow (in the forum), or just answers to questions you've invented yourself. In this special behind the scenes version of the Quackcast we take a look at the men behind the microphones, their struggles and triumphs as they work tirelessly week after week to put out Quackcasts- We cover the early days, the rising tensions between our two mega-popular superstars, the infamous post-post-post-fencepostmodernist-avantegaurde artsy experimental Quackcasts, Bane's personal hell with his Nesquik abuse issues and the resultant humiliating on air breakdown that shocked the world and brought to light the realities of the inner-city Nesquik problem, Skoolmunkee's short lived return and inevitable decent into evil (currently on death row), Bane's and Ozone's triumphant reconciliation and the return to Quackcast glory for our dynamic duo!
