Bruises were much easier to draw in b&w. I haven't come up with a good coloring technique yet. Also, I'm not happy with the speech bubble positioning in panel 3. Looking at it now, I think I should've tried a different angle. Live and learn.
Tantz: That she does. She'll probably have trouble sleeping for a while without wondering if she'll be in the same place.
Lonnehart: I've had dreams like that. They're very unnerving.
ghostrunner: But that's where the boogieman is!
Peipei: It's good to think positive. ^_^
JustNoPoint: I'll try not to forget the chibis again. ^_^ The “God hates me” thought has probably been gaining strength in Seiko's mind for a while. In the dream, she told her mom she doesn't believe in a “benevolent deity.” Bad fortune can start to weigh heavily on a person, especially one who doesn't open up much and lost those whom she did trust.
amanda: Huzzah!
DAJB: Sometimes, it can be hard to tell.

ouch! That bruise looks super painful. This is a super sad page. Love Seiko's expressions in every panel. And yes, where do you get a castle, sign me up for one!

I still don't trust the "reality" she's in. Then again, my falling rocks dream was like that. Even pinched myself in the dream to see if I was awake, and I felt pain. Then took another action only find myself falling onto the same rocks, then "waking up" again right before hitting them. Very VERY unnerving...

Yay!!! I knew he wasn't dead :3! Poor Seiko thinks she's dreaming xD! Cute :p.

Right now, his bandages remind me of David's in Shades of Grey. (From somewhere in the middle of the story, haha.) I hope he IS okay, and I do wonder when we'll see him again in real-time.

HE LIVES! Might end up being one-eyed, but he lives! For bruises: first use multiply by 15-20% to shade in the bruise, then depending on the type of bruise, using very low opacity (10-12%) use purple-black. Then use the normal skin tone at the same opacity to blend, and shade again with multiply until you like the result :) More or less, you will find the way you like to do it by playing with these parameters.

I'll bet this is Conrad's place. A dude like him's got to live in a castle. Though it's a little strange that nobody noticed a castle in town. Maybe it's a medieval-themed hotel room.

This looks like an interesting direction to go in...now I'm very curious! (again) Seiko looks extra-cute in frame 2.
ghostrunner at 11:20PM, June 16, 2010
id go with 25 percent opacity and use it as if you are shading

Pfft! Castles are ten a penny!
