And the flashback ends. (I told you it was brief, but you saw the rest of that story already.) We return to current-day, crazy, homicidal Fudo. He really has changed…

Seiko doesn't know when to shut up. She asks too many questions. At the moment, she's not in any immediate danger, but with this guy around, you'd want to blend into the furniture. It's in her nature to be curious and talk to people. Good luck, Seiko. Maybe you can get past the “crazy” to some semblance of human being underneath.

The DD Beauty Contest has, sadly, ended. (Not ended sadly, mind you. We are just sad it's over.) I think I did improve my drawing abilities (and confidence) throughout the contest, which is one reason I entered. Actually, Tristan got a fair few votes in the final round. If you got here from the contest or otherwise recently and are looking for Tristan, you'll notice he isn't in these later chapters. (Don't worry, he's not gone; his role in all this is just getting started.) If you can bear with the cruddy work of the even further past, here are some of the pages showing Tristan “at his finest”: 61, 100, 111, 119, and 157 .
