I'm not sure I pulled off panel 6 successfully… (One of my roommates understood what was going on, but the other one didn't get it right away.) That is in Fudo's mind's eye. He has noticed Seiko's resemblance to her mother (physical and in personality), and this incites him to violence.

Why? Can't say for sure, except it's obvious that Misaki's past attempt to help Fudo become a “good person” failed miserably. (He was less of a killer when he was a professional assassin…) That might be reason enough to be bitter. Of course, you also have the whole he's-completely-insane thing…
