A (somewhat symbolic) biology lesson from Seiko. You might recognize the boy as one of the kids they babysat a while ago. This is one of the traits Seiko shares with me and most of my grad school colleagues. Biology people naturally gravitate to tide pools and other interesting microhabitats – as opposed to other beach activities.

This was my first time ever drawing a crab, and I don't know much about them, so I looked it up. Uca pugilator is the sand fiddler crab. It lives along the eastern coast of the United States and leaves its burrow at low tide to scavenge for food. They are a somewhat aggressive species, which is why I chose them for Seiko's lesson. ;-) – Oh, and cheliped: chela = claw, ped = foot

Tantz: Several people are. XD

Peipei: Celes is a good sport (with a reputation ;-) ).

JustNoPoint: If it was anyone but Toyo, the remark might be met with either caution or chastising. Everyone likes Toyo.

trevoramueller: I have a few good semi-naughty one-liners. I've been waiting a long time to use that one. ^_~

amanda: Seiko has a bit of attitude and sass when diplomacy isn't necessary. (You're guarded against the turns my stories take, eh? Still cute and harmless… ^_^)
