A bit more candor. This page addresses some of Seiko's previous strange behavior in regards to men, and it also talks about her mother, one of my favorite dead people in this story. :-P

Oh, looking back at this chapter, I realize the sun setting on the ocean horizon contradicts the presence of the crab species earlier (a native of the east coast). (Fictitious places are so full of contradictions.) However, I have seen ocean-y sunsets on the east coast myself. All it takes in an island or peninsula. Voila! Plot hole filled!

LanceDanger: Ice cream makes everything better. ^_^

Peipei: Unfortunately, Seiko can one-up him with her own hang-ups.

JNP: That's true. The guy has barely said anything! Kaida just distrusts most people, and Brad probably wouldn't like anyone Yuki was seeing.

Locoma: Yeah, those blonds are trouble! Kaida is quick to judge.

n_y_japlander: Things do work better when the lifeguards aren't distracted by each other. XD

trev: Root beer is tasty… But I'd like my own can. Drinking after people is gross.

amanda: Covered eyes hide expressions and makes people suspicious/intimidating. (Kaida is fond of her shades for that very reason. ;-) )

pinkertonpark: Thanks. :)

Lonnehart: I think “disappearance” is often tougher than death. There's no closure, no certainty. It can leave a glimmer of hope, but sometimes that's worse than just moving on.
