The “monologue” to which Kaida refers is the confession she has been planning on telling Seiko – not that it matters much now, since the only reason she was going to go through with it was Detective Nash's investigation. (For anyone who needs a reminder, this was the last time we saw the Nashes.)

Btw, I know this chapter is like a roller coaster with how much stuff is happening one after the other. Life is actually like that sometimes. In truth, I'm not “rushing” things. There are reasons for all of this to occur in this fashion – aside from driving the characters nuts.
