It's not so easy to escape one's past, and Mike used to hang out with a … questionable guy. The last line is weird/corny, but my brother found it particularly grammatically amusing, so I left it as is. I'd like to diagram that sentence sometime. XD
That's Seiko trying to get through the crowd in panel 4. I intended to draw her at an angle that showed her uniquely scarred ear (for identity), but it didn't work out.
(Oh, and Seiko has a cameo over in trevoramueller's comic. I guess she's gotten pretty drunk since she's talking about porn…)
n_y_japlander: PJs are not so “out of place” in public. I've seen people wear them to college classes and for quick shopping trips. Carrying money is never too hard. Socks are handy for that. (As are bras, but few people sleep in those.)
Peipei: It is atypical of her, but Seiko isn't really sure how to react to all this.
ghostrunner: Lol. Violent people.

amanda: I'm not sure if it's actually “legal” in this fictitious city (it isn't in most real ones), but this is sort of a lawless part of town anyway. There aren't many smokers in my story. (And I killed of the first one. Lol)
trevor: People have different tastes. To be honest, I rarely drink anything but water. I don't even like most soda. (My roommates can't stand any beverage without flavor. But they hate milk – which I love.)
patrick: I don't know what she's drinking. (I know very little about alcoholic beverages or bars. ^_^; ) The bartender might have recognized her distraught condition and drinking novice and given her something a bit weaker.

Yeesh, no one gets a break! But at least it's working as a distraction for Seiko - not enough time to wallow in self-pity - she has someone to save!

I'm a milk and water drinker - but I also like my whiskey or scotch. ;) As for the guest appearance in @$$hole, Seiko is recommending porn based on the reading tastes of Laura. If you've ever read any of those series, they're all about love, relationships, and lots of sex (well, no sex in Fruit's Basket, but still). She's just being a good employee. :P

Why does he assume that Mike is a killer too? He doesn't mean any harm :( Can't they see that? Although I can relate to the fact that he is angry at his brother's murder...I hope Mike will be okay...
