This one turned out okay. The dialogue went through many edits, but I think I finally got it to flow naturally and hint at Blade's suspicions. (Tristan does not catch on or refute them very well.)

My computer died -- or at least was in a coma for a week. I just got it back, weakened but functional (had to replace the hard drive, could only afford a smaller replacement). Anyway, there will be no page this week. I'm also in the process of getting started in a seasonal job and will be moving again, so thank you for your patience in future delays. (I'll be in Hampton, VA this summer.)

I respect most officers too - it's a thankless job (but it does have power, which a few let go to their heads..)

It can be a real issue in some places for sure. My brother had his arm broken by such an officer (traffic stop). You get crazies and assholes in every walk of life, but the ones who wind up in LE have weapons and authority. -_-

I work side-by-side with LE in NPS. I had an LE roommate one summer too. They are really hard-working. I couldn't do it. Just the mood of the people you interact with on a daily basis would wear me down. (Kinda like customer service but worse.)
