I have a recurring nightmare. In my nightmare, I discover an animal cage somewhere in my home that contains a pet or pets that I had forgotten about. They are sick and dying. I spend the dream frantically trying to help them. (Irl, I live in constant fear of forgetting things. I keep lists everywhere.)
I wanted to capture this sense of forgottenness in the story. I added the earlier page with Kaida et al. calling their friends to emphasize that theme. My abandoned title (Frozen) fit the theme better, imo. The new title better fits some other imagery I have in store. :P
This is the first page testing my new(ish) scanner. I got it as a gift a couple years ago, but it's bulkier than my old one (the new one is also a printer), so it's been stored. I needed the printer, and I'm no longer living in a camper, so I figured I'd use it.

Dunno. Might be tight in that sleeping bag. Probably someone should build a fire.

Thanks. I have a book on wilderness first aid. Not sure why I read so much about hypothermia. (Either researching a story or paranoid about canoeing in November. Heh.)
