I played around with ways to represent the “Kaida voice” here. I wanted it to have an echo, but more of a pre-echo. I dunno. I lightened the gray to help with legibility, but I wanted it to “sound” a little garbled, and I think the visuals sorta pull it off. I intend it to be a little less garbled as the scene continues (but have some lingering pre-echo effect).

In my first script draft (of the dream sequence, which was added to, like, the 5th draft of this arc), I had Kaida's voice cut in as “the Voice” was telling Fudo how he had no friends. But then I decided to separate the dream into two parts and leave him alone in the dark for a while.
