Hi, all. I'm happy to have a relatively easy-to-draw page this week. My job has ended, and I'm dealing with a few stressors. But one anti-stressor is my new family member Dax. She's ten weeks old, 1.6 lbs, and all chihuahua.
My brain is a bit overwhelmed as always during this time of year, but I feel like Used Books is helping me focus and relax. The next scene switches the mood and pacing drastically, so maybe that'll spark a few of my tired neurons. Thanks for all the support, and I hope this deviation from the regular story/timeline doesn't disappoint.

My dad probably has a few in storage. I know he has a wood-panel microwave and a B&W TV with a dial on it. XD

I have a dial phone in my kitchen.

Oh, I know. But most work phones are cordless and or run through an answering machine, which require a separate power source. They don't work when power is out. Unfortunately, our landline is actually on satellite, so it's also at mercy of weather conditions. Technology is really iffy in the mountains.

Most landlines supply their own power. Some of the ones provided through cable/net etc are really sent over the net so they are at the mercy of your provider. No power no phone. Defeats a big reason for keeping a home phone. Emergencies.

I haven't had a house phone in many years and moves. But work has a landline that doesn't need electricity. (Because we lose electricity often.)

He's dropped the ball on this relationship (and possibly rolled it to the opposing team).
