I called my mom to confirm automatic dome lights were a thing in the 70s. (I wasn't there.) The doctor continues to be a typical doctor here. Many members of my extended families are physicians and all have stopped at an accident scene (or many).

Yep. We had dome lights and running water and electricity that ran off nuclear power in the 1970s.

I still cringe when someone turns a dome light on while the car is in motion.

lol. I never thought about the lights in cars and whether they were automatic. I just know we got yelled at if we turned them on while the car was moving.
