I got some new paper, and it's much more comfortable to draw on. My light board is working well too. I am still skipping the “digital polish” step despite seeing things in my art I want to tweak. It's not worth the and effort, and, tbh, I think imperfections are part of art.
I love to see the raw and imperfect nature of others' art, but it has been really hard for me to accept about my own. Which is extra weird since I'm never happy with my art but I still put in so much effort to make it look “polished.” So, I'm refusing to do that. I'm letting the work be smudged and the lines crooked.
On this page, a weird defect in the paper led to a smudge in panel 2. I left it. I guess Misaki's contact was injured. The universe decreed it. XD

I don't really see the imperfections but anything that makes art feel more like a pleasure than a job is always greatly received. I used to switch my style all the time just to find the right balance between drawing and touching it up in the computer so it didn't felt like ages. It might be all exposition but it is really fun to read!

Thanks! I used to "ink" on a separate layer with vectors, remove any stray pencil marks, draw perfectly straight lines over my original drawings, cut and resize portions digitally to get better proportions. It took days. And it didn't make a big difference either. Definitely not worth the effort. -- Drawing more freestyle for Echoes helped me embrace my rough pencil art. I'm a lot more comfortable with uneven lines and haphazard textures now.

Thank you. ❤️ It's been a rough/weird year. I'm glad to be stumbling back into comics.

The seventies were fun for me but I was a kid and didn't understand things like us being poor. We had family and friends and Scifi like Space:1999 and Star Wars.

I was a child in the 80s. It was a good time to be a young child. Lots of great toys, and by the time I was in college, I had a computer and internet. (Lousy timing to enter the workforce, though.)
