I finished early and uploaded when finished because that's my preference these days. In an ideal world, I'd have two updates per week. In my very not ideal world, I'll work at my sporadic pace and update when I can. I don't like my story taking any longer than necessary.

I used a 2B pencil on this page. It's my first time using softer lead for UB. (Until a few years ago, I used a fine mechanical pencil for precision.) It felt so much better making this page and definitely looks better and more consistent. Thanks to Tantz for the tip on drawing gloves. I appreciate the softer graphite without smudging. (In school, my favorite medium was charcoal. I was a MESS when I used it, but it encouraged me to embrace my natural chaos.)

The end result of this arc is basically unchanged from early drafts, but hoo boy, the methods and cast roles changed. Ultimately, I found it cathartic to have Kaida bring Val down (again), especially while bound. In my original draft, she had basically no part in the victory. It was quite a revelation to me when that possibility came to mind, and everything fell in place around it.
