Not that it isn't a valid point, but I'm a really sensitive n00b. If I just read a non-me-directed comment alone, it wouldn't bug me, but the example makes me sad – even if no one else recognizes it.

See, that pic in APC's example was at 24 bit depth, so the file size ended up at over a meg for a simple image. -Should have been Jpeg for a colour, detailed picture with large dimensions intended for web display…

NOW, your comic is done using 8 bit PNG. There's a MASSIVE difference. That's 256 colours max, like a gif. Excellent for images on the web with simple colour.

I apologize, though. I thought you put up the picture (reading backwards, skimming, lack of sleep). I guess it was APC who made me sad by picking that example. “Case in point” doesn't bug me like “n00b” does. It was an *accidental team effort* that did me in.

In any case, I will be using jpg conversions for my colored pages. I don't do them often, so I didn't know.

Save your archive images in PNG 24bit if you like, that format is lossless I believe, as well as saving channels and Alpha transparency. It's useful in things like video editing too.

For nice pics with complicated colour though- jpeg. 50% compression is usually a good balance between image quality and file size. -Never save archive files that way (unless it's on CD or DVD-where it's totally read only), because it's lossy, so after opening and viewing it a few thousand times, maybe a few hundred thousand (not sure), you'll notice a deterioration of image quality.

When I still lived in Sheffield there was a chippy literally three doors down from us, they used to give one of our cats leftover fish. Once they had to close down for a while (don't remember why) and he sat outside mewling at the door for days. It would've been cute if he didn't look like he wanted to devour Steve McQueen.

A piece of cardboard just nearly drove me nuts. I only wanted a straight line. I've been trying it for weeks and I couldn't even finish the first box, if I can't draw straight lines, what fucking hope have I got left? Anyway, I just tore the fucker in half, which felt far more satisfying than is probably healthy. Someone peed all over the seat and I sat down and now I am wet!

so the past two days have been really crappy.

first the engines stalled on take off….and i about pee'd myself…..then a nice 8 hours later, the fog was too thick to land where we were supposed to…so we went to somewhere else…and had a nice 4 hour break inside the plane, only to be shuttled close to where we were and wait there for two hours,inside the plane. restocked the plane, and had another nerve racking 6-1/2 hour flight to here. i've been here for 5 hours, and am already back in the grove of missing home.. i'm tired cause i havent slept siince tuesday, and it's now thursday for me.

i dont have a wife, but i'm not single either. i dont want to move on, but i can't handle the heartache. all in all i just need to set it aside so i can do my job, and worry about it when i get home….

I just bit my tongue while eating a soft shell cheesy taco. It was the worst kind of a bite too. Right at the tip and deep so it bled.

Now eating this delicious treat isn't as enjoyable as it could have been.

Busier than hell, don't have a computer after the move, need to put a “On Hiatus” message on my comic until I get everything situated, and people who beat their kids with a belt so hard that two days later there are still visible marks (on a black kid) should be grounds for me smacking them with an ASP.


Oh…and he didn't get “froggy” enough for me to hit him with a baton…which really kind of sucked. Fucking asshole.

I've been taking REALLY big poops lately, and by gum it HURTS. Seriously bowels, what's the deal? I start eating healthy and THIS is how you repay me?

February 17th is apparently spring. I'm not angry that I'm getting off school, I'm angry that SPRING BREAK ISN'T IN THE SPRING. My dad's coming to visit me, and I haven't seen him for a while. I really wanted to go out and sightsee with him, but it turns out all three days he's here we have an 80 percent chance of rain or snow, 100 percent chance of it being cloudy. Great.

Today the weather betrayed me… :(
It started off chilly and cold, the first morning like that, that I can even THINK of for months and months! It had been cool when I was going home from work yesterday too… So I dug the jeans out of by drawer, got out my nice heavy black army boots (they look smart with under the jeans), nice long sleeved T-shirt and my short blue coat.
-I looked quite smart and was comfy and warm against the chilly, windy morning

It was fairly warm in the office when I got there… not bad though. I thought it was just the temperature regulation.

UGH, when I got out though… Sweltering again! Just like it's been for ages! The bastard tricked me. And there I am sweating in those damn boots.

So I got on the train again to head home, and the Air-conditioning is freezing in there…

I decided to stop off and do some shopping in the town centre near my house because they had advertised a special of custard tarts (which I LOVE), the bastards didn't have any!!! So I bought milk and stuff instead. Then I went back to the train to catch it back home. But the next one wasn't due for 14 minutes!!!! CRAP.
14 minutes to wait for a 2 minute journey of 2 kilometres!
No thanks.

So I walked it, under the boiling sun, in those stupid boots, with the coat, jeans and heavy shopping. What a shit end to the day. Still it was soon over, only 2.5 Ks in all I think.

Still, I HATE treacherous days that can't decide whether to be hot of cold so they do both! Looks like damn Autumn's here for sure now. :(
